Nassau County, Florida, March 12, 2024 – The Nassau County Attorney’s Office is
pleased to introduce its new Assistant County Attorney, Elizabeth Moore. Ms. Moore
has been practicing law for sixteen years, most recently working in commercial real
estate where she advised clients on transactional matters and appeared before
governments and agencies across northeast Florida. Ms. Moore was also a partner in
the Jacksonville offices of two global law firms, representing clients in environmental
matters, contract negotiations, litigation, and regulatory compliance issues.
Ms. Moore graduated summa cum laude from University of Pennsylvania with a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies. She received
her Juris Doctor Degree with High Honors from George Washington University Law
School, where she served on the Law Review. Ms. Moore has resided in Nassau
County since 2007.
As Assistant County Attorney, Ms. Moore will perform a variety of duties including legal
research and issuing opinions on legal matters of local government law for County
departments, committees, and boards, as assigned. She will also support the County
Attorney by drafting legal documents, preparing proposed legislation, and prosecuting
and defending civil and administrative cases on behalf of the County government.
County Attorney Denise May stated, “We are happy that Elizabeth has accepted this
position. Her experience and knowledge made her an excellent candidate. She will not
only be a great asset to the County as a whole, but also to the County Attorney’s Office
as we strive to provide outstanding legal representation to the Board of County
Commissioners.
