Nassau Citizens Defending
February 2024 – Newsletter topics

This a summary of current Nassau – CDF Projects and News Stories

Big news first.  Last week, Nassau Citizens Defending Freedom, brought a lawsuit against Nassau County School District, School Board and Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare for NOT RELEASING public records.  CDF never wanted to sue the school district, but when public records are withheld from parents and citizens, action must be taken!  In fact, in the suit, you will see that there are sexual topics in the software that are not appropriate for minors.  Our community deserves to know what is in there and how it is being used.   Lawsuit.    First Coast News coverage

School Library books removed.  Our School District took decisive action to remove 34 offensive, sexual books from our schools.   Nassau CDF is grateful for action by our school district.  These books sexualize, confuse and damage children.  We continue to seek to work with our school district to remove any other offensive books that violate state law.

Nassau – CDF is in the process of donating 32 Brave Books to Nassau County elementary schools.  The process is slow and methodical to ensure that only wholesome books are added to our school libraries.  It is worth the wait.

In January, several members visited our legislators at the capital in Tallahassee – Rep.Dean Black, Senator Clay Yarborough, Rep Kiyan Michael,  and the Defend Florida Team.  There are roughly 100 bills flying through the short legislative session including some good bills and some not so good.  Lobbyists, county Supervisors of Elections and radicals are pushing hard to pass bad laws.  Some of their efforts are winning.  Follow the progress – the session is almost over.  You can send a not to legislators also.  DUVAL is fighting monument removal.  The legislature is watering down the laws.  You can send an email to legislators asking them to strengthen the laws to protect history!   In another bill that seems harmless, we see in HB 721 the risk that regular citizens could be targeted for prosecution for objecting to election issues.  The choice of the word intimidate (by who’s definition) extends the interpretation widely and dangerously.

New Biblical Citizenship Classes starting.  These classes show the perspective of US history that is no longer included in history books.  Classes are great for Wednesday night church groups, American Legion and even a small group interested in watching/discussing over  coffee or dinner.  If you are interested in hosting or attending, fill out this form.  Select any category, just mention Biblical Citizenship!

Nassau CDF will be hosting Voter Registration Drives around the county.  If you would like to have us come to your event, your ball field, or your church, please sign up here under elections or contact us via email at [email protected].

Local Pastors and Churches are getting involved. There is a Liberty Pastors conference coming up in a couple of weeks.  Additionally, CDF is also launching Remnant Alliance with an event for our local Pastors on April 11 in Jacksonville.  Ask your Pastor, Priest or Rabbi to be included, please let us know.  Email us at [email protected] for updates on date and time.

Poll watching is easy and important.   Poll watchers can register with a candidate or a political party or both.  If you would like to watch what is going on at one or more polling precincts, sign up.  Check with your political party or ask a candidate for office for the form.  Contact us if you need help connecting to a candidate.  Poll Watcher training link.

Know the candidates!  On the Supervisor of Elections website, they list the announced candidates running for office.  Be sure to stay informed regarding who is running.  If you do not think the best candidates are running, talk to friends and neighbors to find a candidate.  If you think you like a candidate, meet them, ask questions (hard questions) and consider supporting them.

Message from 3 Sheriffs – Sheriff Jones in Ohio, Sheriff Grady Judd Polk County Florida and our own Sheriff Bill Leeper in Nassau County.  They talk about the border, fentanyl, culture and what our community should be doing to be diligent.  Letting our elected officials know and engaging our churches and Pastors was mentioned.

Are City of Fernandina Beach Impact fees being misused?  You decide.  Read this article that has facts and raises questions you should be asking city commissioners.

As you can see, Nassau CDF is working hard for the citizens of Nassau County especially our children, but we need YOUR help.  If you want to help out with a project, please let us know through the volunteer form.

Getting involved is rewarding when you see the positive impact you can have for your family, your neighbors and our country.

Be sure to sign up on our national site at Citizens Defending Freedom and include your email, mobile number and mobile carrier so that we can send important communications via text message.
