Amelia Island Museum of History May’s Brown Bag Lunch Explores a War 50 Years in the Making!

May 1 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Brown Bag Lunch

Wednesday, May 1st at noon

In 1812, a group of “Patriots” seized Fernandina from the Spanish, led by a Revolutionary War hero acting on secret orders from the President. The short-lived Republic of East Florida marked the start of a decade of international powers, pirates, and charlatans alike all clamoring for control over Amelia Island! Join museum docent Susan Martin as she guides you through the tumultuous Patriot War—a war 50 years in the making! This will be the next chapter in our year-long speaker series celebrating Fernandina’s 200th anniversary, so join us on Wednesday, May 1st, to learn more about this fascinating history!

Attendance is free and open to the public and attendants may bring their lunch. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
