Press Release

Citizens Journal Florida’s online publication officially opened for business on July 4, 2022- so HAPPY 1st Birthday CJF!
In 2021, after reviewing regional news/commentary publications available for Nassau County, FL, we concluded that mainly left-wing publications were available and were also not very truthful about political and social issues.
It wasn’t until April of 2022 that we gained enough support to get a project underway to eventually rectify this. A temporary site and some content was launched in April with the new permanent site becoming operational on June 21. Our formal launch was on Independence Day.
We utilize a Citizens Journal model, largely volunteer-driven and avoiding most of the foibles of the secular Progressive “Mainstream Media approach. It’s sure not perfect, but it’s more real than our major competitors.
We thank our staff, writers, contributors, promoters, technical resources, financial supporters and advertisers, without whom this project would not have been possible.
While we have been up and running and getting mostly good feedback on what is there, we need more help with local news, advertising/donations, social media and editing. We intend to broaden and deepen our offerings as capacity becomes available. Some key people have left for the summer or for health reasons. The local reporting and advertising/donations sales positions are paid.
We encourage your feedback and support.
Happy Independence Day!
