Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

1/21/25

The 119th Congress will be debating some important topics, starting with renewing the Trump tax cuts. Letting them expire would mean a 25% tax increase for hardworking Northeast Floridians. Meanwhile, a family of four would face a $1,372 tax increase—that’s worth about 8 weeks of groceries.

We can’t let this happen! That’s why the Committee on Ways and Means is taking action. During our first policy hearing this week, we highlighted the American workers, families, and small business owners that would be hurt if these cuts expire.

As one of the newest members of this prestigious committee, I am honored to work alongside Chairman Jason Smith to extend and expand President Trump’s historic tax cuts. Together we will deliver for Northeast Floridians and America.

DOGE CAUCUS GAME PLAN

Image

On Tuesday, I, along with Congressional DOGE Caucus co-chairs Representative Blake Moore, Representative Pete Sessions, and Senator Joni Ernst, unveiled the Congressional DOGE Caucus Platform—a pro-American agenda to cut government waste, fraud, and abuse.

It’s a common-sense roadmap containing eight principles that will undo the devasting damage of Crazy Town’s reckless spending addiction and Make America Efficient Again. You can read the Congressional DOGE Caucus Platform HERE .

Additionally, we held our second caucus meeting this week, where we announced the creation of eight working groups that will be focused on tackling waste in different areas of the government. By working in a bipartisan manner, we will prevent America from diving off the cliff of fiscal ruin. Read more about the closed-door meeting exclusively in Fox News HERE .

STRENGTHENING U.S.-TAIWAN ECONOMIC TIES

As Communist China continues to threaten American interests, we must do all we can to strengthen our partnership with Taiwan.

On Wednesday, we passed H.R. 33, the United-States Taiwan Expedited Double Tax Relief Act. This timely bill will strengthen our economic ties with Taiwan and empower Americans doing business in the country. Read more HERE .

PROTECTING WOMEN AND GIRLS SPORTS

Image

Congressman Bean is pictured with Women’s Sports advocate Riley Gaines.

Allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports is what the Far-Left calls equality. But every time a male takes a lane in the pool, a spot on the field, or a place at the starting line, a female athlete loses the opportunity to compete. That doesn’t sound equal to me.

On Wednesday, the House passed H.R. 28, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. We will not allow anyone to infringe upon women’s athletic opportunities or make them second-class citizens in their sports. Learn more HERE .

BICAMERAL CONGRESSIONAL DOGE MEETING

Image

I made my way to the Senate side on Thursday for a Bicameral Congressional DOGE meeting held by co-chair Senator Joni Ernst. We had a very productive meeting discussing opportunities for both the House and Senate to work together to end Crazy Town’s addiction to spending.

PASSED: BILL TO DEPORT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WITH HISTORY OF SEX OFFENSES

Image
On Thursday, the House sent a strong message to the American people. We will deport the most dangerous illegal immigrants—the murderers, rapists, and sex offenders that have come into our country.

I was proud to vote in favor of Representative Nancy Mace’s bill, the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act. Sadly, 145 members voted against protecting American women and making our nation safer. Learn more HERE .
