After Iran pulled out of negotiations and after the 60 day period President Trump set for diplomatic resolution, the U.S. decided to, then bombed Iranian Nuclear sites.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump said in a social media post at 7:50 p.m. ET. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home.”
The military had been staging this in case approval was granted, moving in bombers, fighters, ships, fuel tankers, missiles, hardening bases and evacuating personnel.
Trump had said that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and evidently other alternatives had been considered and this was considered the best one. It appears that he has a lot of bi-partisan support for this, but some outspoken opposition as well.
The sites have been bombed, but confirmation of what is destroyed, what remains and what might have happened to materials taken off site is unknown to the public and possibly to the U.S. military at this time.
After years of working with the Iranians and constantly being disappointed and lied to, this is it.
