Ken Timmerman’s Threat Watch www.kentimmerman.com, 9-22-23
The media was full of the UN General Assembly this year, and it was almost comic to watch them dance around the catastrophe that the UN has become. The president of the European Council, Charles Michel, had the most often quoted line: the UN has become “sclerotic,” he said, “hobbled by hostile forces.” No small wonder that Joe Biden was the only head of state of the Permanent Five to show up. Not even French president Macron – ‘Little Cookie’ – could find the time. This year’s UN General Assembly session was a globalist barbecue. Wasn’t the UN created to guarantee a united international response to aggression? Presidents Bush 41 and 43 both turned the UN for authorization to invade Iraq. Putin, of course, didn’t bother. That has always been the latent weakness of the UN system. When a member of the Permanent Five commits the aggression, there’s no one to stop them. And then you had the spectacle of a mass murderer – Ibrahim Raisi, “president” of the Islamic dictatorship in Iran – vowing to assassinate American political leaders from the UN podium. That has got to be a first. Even Arafat “only” vowed to kill Jews. (I say that about Arafat obviously tongue in cheek. This year alone, the UN General Assembly passed 17 of its 100-odd resolutions condemning Israel. It passed one condemning Iran for its human rights abuses, one targeting Syria, one targeting North Korea. But 17 against Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East!) Also this week was a visit by Pope Francis to Marseilles, the big, messy but savory French Mediterranean port. He came bearing a plea for France and other Mediterranean nations to open their doors to poor migrants coming from North Africa and beyond, but even the French gave him the cold shoulder. Their message was clear: yes, we acknowledge the Biblical invitation to welcome the stranger. But that doesn’t mean we give him the key to our house, our car, or our bank accounts, nor do we give him the right to tell our daughters how to dress. For over a thousand years, France has prided herself on being the “fille aïné de l’Elise” – the eldest daughter of the Church. These days, the lady has become a vamp. I discuss this and more on this week’s geopolitical roundup on Prophecy Today Weekend. As always, you can listen live at 1 PM on Saturday by using the Jacksonville Way Radio app, or on 104.9 FM or 550 AM. And if you miss the show live, you can listen to the podcast here. Yours in freedom, Ken PS: My friends at the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles joined with other human rights activists to condemn the Council on Foreign Relations for inviting Iranian “president” Raisi to address its members this week in New York. The CFR appeared ready to cave – but ultimately upheld its invitation to the mass murdering Raisi on Thursday. Shame on them. |
