…Most court observers believe the Court’s reactions and questions showed they will likely rule in favor of the parents and the First Amendment. But what’s getting the most attention was the Justices’ reactions to learning what was in these books, like a pre-kindergarten book about a puppy that gets lost at a gay pride parade (“Pride Puppy”) and sees someone in leather.
The publisher claims the book is “joyful” and “inclusive.” But Justice Gorsuch reflected the feelings of many Americans when he expressed shock that three-year-olds were being taught to read by looking for leather and identifying words such as “drag queen.” The school’s attorney denied that the book featured bondage or sex workers.
Well, they’ve got to save something for First Grade…
