There are so many stories making up the mosaic of national/international news that we can’t cover them all every week. The biggest stories now seem to be: election, Trump trials, immigration, wars, massive orchestrated ‘Palestine’ protests/riots, weaponization of government, lawfare, our nation going bankrupt, massive inflation, phony climate change controversy and related expenses of government/industry attempting to address these issues, and the Chinese threat. So here are just a few:

Speaker Johnson Files Brief Against ‘Wrongfully Constituted’ Jan 6 Committee to Help Steve Bannon
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-LA, announced plans to file an amicus brief in a move that could upend the court ruling against former Trump advisor Steve Bannon. According to The Hill, a House group of majority and minority members appropriately titled The Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group voted in favor of the filing to support Bannon in his appeal.
Bannon was ordered to serve a jail sentence starting on July 1 for refusing to comply with a January 6 committee subpoena. Johnson, along with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La, and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn, released a joint statement on the subject.
“The amicus brief will be submitted after Bannon files a petition for rehearing en banc and will be in support of neither party. It will withdraw certain arguments made by the House earlier in the litigation about the organization of the Select Committee.”
During an interview with Sean Hannity, on Fox News, Johnson also stated, “The January 6 committee was, we think wrongfully constituted. We think the work was tainted We think that they may have very well covered up evidence and maybe even more nefarious activities.”

Rep Anna Paulina Luna Lowers the Boom on Merrick Garland — Warns He Has Until Friday Morning to Turn Over Tapes Or Be Taken Into Custody
Earlier today, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) announced that she would be holding a press conference to address the statement she made last week about holding Merrick Garland accountable after he was found in contempt of Congress. “We will hold Merrick Garland in inherent contempt of Congress. No one is above the law. Tune in!” she wrote on her X account: “We are here today because of the double standard that exists within the justice system. As you know, on February 27, the Oversight Committee, as well as the House Judiciary, had sent a subpoena to Attorney General Garland, of which we received no response, and after referring him for criminal contempt within 48 hours or less, the Department of Justice refused to prosecute. Inherent contempt is clearly within our Article One authority, and Congress does have the power to investigate all legislative powers.
“Investigations are part of our legislative process, and people who interfere with these processes should be held accountable. Inherent Contempt was first used in 1795, and this was further upheld in a Supreme Court decision in 1927 and McGrain versus Doherty, which stated that Congress does indeed have this authority. It’s important to note that when an individual is called before courts across the country, they appear.
“Why should the attorney general, who is supposed to be head of all law enforcement authorities, be any different? Garland still has time to comply with this request. We are asking that he bring the tapes to the house and let us listen to them, but in the event that he does not, we will press forward with calling the privilege motion on Inherent Contempt to the floor on Friday morning.”

FACT CHECK: Joe Biden Claims He Is the ‘Only President’ This Century with No Troop Deaths
CLAIM: President Joe Biden said he was the “only” president this century with no American troop deaths. VERDICT: False.
President Joe Biden claimed Thursday during the first 2024 presidential debate that he is the “only president” this century with no American troop deaths during his watch. Specifically, Biden said: “The truth is, I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have any this – this decade, that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world, like he (Trump) did.”
This is false. During Biden’s presidency’s 13 American troops were killed in August 2021 during the Afghanistan withdrawal that he ordered. In addition, three American soldiers were killed in Jordan in January 2024 after they were targeted by Iran-backed militia groups. A Department of Defense statement issued on January 29, 2024 stated:
“Three U.S. soldiers were killed yesterday in Jordan, while more than 40 other service members were injured following an uncrewed aerial system attack at a military base near the Syrian border. Those service members were in Jordan to support Operation Inherent Resolve, which is the U.S. and coalition mission to ensure the defeat of ISIS.”
In addition, two Navy SEALs died also in January during an operation to interdict a ship carrying Iranian-made weapons bound for Yemen.

Bombshell Report: Biden Only Fully Functional From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Joe Biden is only fully functional from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to a report by Axios published Saturday in the wake of Biden’s disastrous not-ready-for-primetime debate with President Trump Thursday night. The report states White House staff know there are ‘two Bidens’: One who is fully engaged for about six hours a day and the one Americans (and the world) saw staring into space and struggling to articulate lucid, complete thoughts during the debate Thursday night.
Biden’s poor performance at the debate helps explain why he has claimed executive privilege to prevent the public from hearing the audio recordings of his October 2023 interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur in the classified documents investigation. According to a transcript released by Hur, among many miscues, Biden could not remember when he served as vice president or when his son Beau passed away. Hur said he decided not charge Biden for illegally possessing classified documents from his time as senator and vice president because a jury would likely see Biden as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,”–a polite way of saying the president of the United States was mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Hur’s report, released in February, sent shock waves through Washington, leading to speculation about Biden’s ability. A strong performance at the State of the Union address in March bought Biden time until the debate. Now that the public has seen the real Biden, the truth of his condition is starting to leak out to the media.

Biden’s Cabinet Called on to Invoke 25th Amendment
House Speaker Mike Johnson called on President Joe Biden’s cabinet on Friday to invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution and remove the commander in chief from office given his troubling debate performance the night before.
Asked about Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy’s plans to offer a House resolution calling upon Vice President Kamala Harris to take the lead in removing Biden, Johnson told reporters on Capitol Hill, “There’s a lot of people asking about the 25th Amendment, invoking the 25th Amendment right now because this is an alarming situation.”
“Our adversaries see the weakness in this White House as we all do. I take no pleasure in saying that. I think this is a very dangerous situation,” added the speaker, who is second in the line succession to the presidency behind the vice president.

President Joe Biden’s Campaign Raises $27 Million After Debate Flop
President Joe Biden’s (D) reelection campaign raised $27 million just after his disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump on Thursday.
A Biden campaign spokesperson shared the announcement with CNBC on Saturday, and the outlet noted that in May the campaign, the Democrat National Convention, Biden PACs, and committees raised $85 million.
However, Trump raised so much money in May that he knocked out Biden’s longstanding cash advantage, campaign finance filings with the Federal Election Commission said, per Breitbart News.
The filings said the former president’s campaign and the Republican National Committee raised $141 million that month, with a major surge hitting at the close of May just after Trump was convicted on falsifying business records.

Nancy Pelosi Claims Trump, Not Biden, is the Candidate with Dementia Before Having a Senior Moment of Her Own
Unless Nancy Pelosi is a world-class actress, don’t count on her throwing Joe Biden overboard. On the plus side, America can still appreciate a bit of karma regarding liars like her.
Pelosi was a guest on CNN’s State of the Union morning show with host Dana Bash on Sunday to discuss Biden’s historically awful debate and the countless calls for him to drop out. The former Speaker not only stood firmly behind Biden in the interview but claimed President Trump was the real problem.
Pelosi attempted to gaslight CNN viewers by inferring that Trump, not Biden, was actually the one with dementia. For “evidence,” she cited unnamed “health professionals” who never once examined the 45th President.
The former Speaker then denied Trump’s truthful statement that she is an enabler while astoundingly claiming Biden is so attuned to the issues they regularly discuss policy together without difficulty.

Supreme Court Rules on Presidential Immunity
There were multiple highly-anticipated Supreme Court decisions this term, but this one is perhaps the biggest of them. The ruling could have significant implications not only for former President Donald Trump personally but the 2024 presidential election, future Oval Office occupants — and potentially, even current and past presidents.
In a 6-3 ruling, the Court held that a former president has absolute immunity for his core constitutional powers. Further, former presidents are also entitled to at least a presumption of immunity for their official acts. However, there is no immunity for unofficial acts.
Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for the Court, laid out the holding, one that is likely to confound those on both/all sides of the issue, at least to some degree. In sending the case back to the lower courts to determine which of the acts in question are “official” versus “unofficial.”

After Bombshell SCOTUS Ruling on Immunity, Trump Moves to Have Manhattan Convictions Tossed
Not long after the momentous Supreme Court decision regarding presidential immunity came down Monday—freaking out liberals while giving a smile to Republicans—Donald Trump’s legal team moved to have his 34 convictions in Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s business fraud trial overturned. The move comes just days before the July 11 sentencing date: Earlier Monday, RedState’s Susie Moore explained the importance of the SCOTUS decision: As we reported, the former president was elated with the ruling, while the current occupant of the Oval Office—Mr. “Democracy”—continued to attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the nation’s highest court.
