By Judge John Marshall Meisburg, Jr., 7-31-25
See this email from Nassau County Assistant Superintendent Mark Durham regarding the status of pornographic books objected to and removed. Great news: The Nassau County School Board voted on July 10, 2025 to remove Nine (9) books “to comply with the directive of the State Board of Education”. The Nassau County School Board has now voted to remove 15 books in all, and 56 books are still pending review. This means that the State Board of Education is actually directing local school boards to remove specific pornographic books, which is a great development.

Sir: Please give me a status report in regard to the 60 books that were objected to by parents over the last 3 months and temporarily removed. I also understand that your staff removed 55 books recently from the shelves. Please give me a listing of the books that were removed as well. Thanks very much for your assistance in this matter.
