He’s a big boy…
“I stand by MY statement.”
Out of bounds? Seems shame and guilt are creeping into his correspondences to informed and concerned citizens.

Mr. Procko. Insinuating there is some sort of impropriety with my support of this corridor plan and bringing any supporters donation check into play is disgusting and very disrespectful. I sincerely hope you rethink what you wrote and how out of bounds it is. I stand by my statements last night. Have a wonderful week. In service,
Klynt A. Farmer Nassau County Commissioner District 5 904-570-1357

Subject: “Fearmongering”
Mr. Farmer:
Last night, I believe you suggested I was “fearmongering” in my statements before the board.
“Fearmongering is the action of intentionally trying to make people afraid of something when this is not necessary or reasonable.”
From my attorneys May 12 letter of objection: “…the Amendment appears to enable high-density development through indirect means, without acknowledging its true impact.”
Fearmongering?
Is it fearmongering to personally have concerns about the fact that you took monetary donations from the developer Greg Matovina prior to last night’s hearing in which you just rendered decisions favorable to Mr. Matovina? If I am wrong, please correct me. Ethical politicians will recognize that any gift from someone with business before him is intended to exert influence.
In my efforts to understand your previous acceptance of Mr. Matovina’s monies, I consulted with an older and now disgraced politician. He stated, “Running for office is an expensive process…You would take money from Hitler if it was offered to you during your campaign.”
No, I would not.
We are not the same.
I’m sure we’ll talk again soon.

Unless specifically exempt by state law, written communications to county officials or staff regarding official government business are public records available to the public and media upon request—including email addresses. If your email communication is related to official government business, it may therefore be subject to public disclosure. Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address released in response to a public records request, please do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, please contact this office by phone or in writing.
Editor’s note: Most donors donate because they hope that the candidate will enact their desired agenda if elected. Our campaign finance system makes it more likely that donations will influence a candidature who is elected. Officials of integrity will do what is best for the people and follow the law. A donation isn’t proof that an official acted illegally.
