Has anyone challenged the Fernandina Beach apartment building projects on Florida Barrier Islands? Granting waivers to local building regulations and laws that create greater density populations on our island, increasing population stress on our environment and creating a significant emergency evacuation impact on our limited egress routes for hurricanes doesn’t make sense. Our county roads that exist off the main thoroughfares do not support the traffic volumes that will surely result from high density apartments embedded in our neighborhoods. Yet our city council continues to rubber stamp the building waivers put in place to control these issues.
Has anyone reached out to state authorities to question the Live Local Act impact on Florida Barrier islands?
Please consider raising this argument on our behalf.
Respectfully
Pete Thielen
