| Can’t we please talk about something else? We’ve had this damn Trump trial dominating cable news for the past five weeks, can’t we just get over it? That’s kind of like asking, can’t we please go back to the 1950s and Ozzie and Harriet? You might wish it so, but if you ignore this, the reality will come and bite you soon enough. Until Trump’s guilty verdict on Thursday, we could still hold out hope that our criminal justice system would triumph in the end over the evils of Stalinism. I kept on thinking, how could 12 New Yorkers – arguably the most contentious people on the planet – possible agree beyond a reasonable doubt on 34 bizarre, confusing, and inexplicable criminal charges? But this Stalinist judge showed them the way. Don’t worry about the criminal charges. You don’t even have to agree what they are. We are not charging a crime. We are charging a man. That is exactly what Lavrentiy Beria, Stalin’s notorious secret police chief, told Stalin at the beginning of the infamous Moscow show trials. “Show me the man, and I’ll find you the crime.” And make no mistake about it: the Democrats are salivating over seeing Donald Trump in an orange jump suit. They want him in jail — even if it’s only for a day. They want him on Riker’s Island, just so they can savor the moment. Will any of them come to regret this twenty years from now when our freedoms have become a distant memory? Because unless Donald Trump comes roaring back on November 5 to dismantle the Deep State and root out political prosecutors and corrupt judges, not one of us is safe. If they could convict Donald Trump on these pathetic charges, they can send you and me to jail for jaywalking. Or spitting on the sidewalk. Or buying a gun. I am reminded of the case of Iranian-American investor Hassan Nemazee, arrested in August 2009 of bank and wire fraud for allegedly overstating the value of his real estate assets in order to refinance a business loan. Just like Donald Trump, Nemazee never missed a payment, and his bankers loved him. And just like Trump, he fell afoul of the Democrat Party bosses in New York and was sent to jail for 12 1/2 years, until he was released in 2019 under President Trump’s Criminal Justice Reform, the First Step Act. What was his crime? during the 2007-2008 presidential campaign, Hassan Nemazee became Hillary Clinton’s Finance Chair, raising hundreds of millions of dollars for her to beat Barack Obama to the nomination. He tried to repair the slight by bundling contributions for Obama’s Inaugural committee, but the damage had been done. Obama’s hand-picked U.S. Attorney, Preet Bharara, made Nemazee his first high profile target less than two weeks after taking office on August 13, 2009. At the time, no one came to Nemazee’s rescue. Democrats quickly forgot his fund-raising skills, understanding with chilling lucidity that Obama was showing them who was boss. Slight the godfather, and you pay the price. Republicans, selfishly, didn’t care because he wasn’t one of their own. Is Alan Dershowitz the only Democrat civil libertarian left in America willing to defend Trump? I’ll bet he’s looking over his shoulder right now. I am fearful for my country. I am fearful for our freedoms, because this is how we lose them. I discuss this and the latest in Russia’s advance on Kharkiv, what Israel has discovered in the Hamas tunnels to Egypt, and Sweden’s warning that the Iranian regime is plotting to kill Israelis on Swedish soil, on this week’s Prophecy Today Weekend. As always, you can listen live at 1 PM on Saturday on 104.9 FM or 550 AM in the Jacksonville, Fl, area, or by using the Jacksonville Way Radio app. If you miss us live, you can listen to the podcast here.
