“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” —Matthew 5:17-19 ©NKJV
Colonial Clergymen who Influenced American Government Guest essay by Bill Federer A descendant of Protestant Reformer John Knox, Witherspoon was educated at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and afterwards served as a Presbyterian pastor. His writings brought him to the attention of the trustees of the College of New Jersey, who sent Benjamin Rush and Richard Stockton to Scotland to persuade him and his wife, Elizabeth, to come to the American colonies. Benjamin Rush and Richard Stockton later joined John Witherspoon in signing the Declaration of Independence. Sailing to America in 1768, John Witherspoon became the President of the College of New Jersey, which was later renamed Princeton University. There, Witherspoon taught 12 members of the Continental Congress, and 9 of the 55 writers of the U.S. Constitution, including James Madison. “Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith….But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless….according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.” —1 Timothy 1:5-11 ©NKJV

God’s Ten Commandments Yesterday, Today, Forever Book by Rev. Dr. Francis Nigel LeeGod Himself is the Root of the moral law and perfectly reflects it. Salvation was never by the works of the law. The Sabbath, marriage, the forbidden fruit, and the Tree of Life all reveal it. When man broke God’s law, he degenerated more and more—from the Fall to the Flood. The patriarchs kept it, and the prophets called man back to keep it. So, too, should we. Shop Now |

From Mason to Minister
Through the Latice
Book by Neil Cullan McKinlay
An adventurous, captivating, and poetic memoir of the author’s courageous and spiritual journey—from Scotland to Canada to Australia—in his quest to “find the Truth and know the living God.” Neither an apologetic nor a polemic, he corrects much misinterpretation and misunderstanding of Freemasonry. We learn how inspiration from Masonic teachings about Solomon’s Temple, the arch, and keystone led him to a deep study of the revelation from the Bible of the “stone the builders rejected,” which is Christ. Readers will be uplifted, inspired, and delighted as they follow along with him in the discovery of his calling to become a minister.
