Thanks to a generous and patriotic donation from local residents, James and Carla Houchins, tonight , Friday 11, the Post will feature the popular local Honey Badgers band from 7-10 pm.
It’s all open to the public and food and a full bar are available.
The Legion is located at the corner of South 3rd Street and Gum. Stop by today, salute a veteran, enjoy the music, and buy Jim and Carla a drink.
2nd Annual Veterans Day Fun Run on Amelia Island. We are excited to announce we have partnered with Cross the Line Paddle for Veterans of Fernandina Beach!
Feel the pain of resistance and the ability to overcome as our Veterans have done for years.
Registration starts at 8am, run starts at 9am and ends at 11am. The run will start and finish at parking lot “A ” downtown. The “course” will be east on Centre St. to Atlantic Ave. to the Main Beach turn around, and will have a 1 mile turn around, a 5k turn around and an optional 1mile beach run (which makes the 5th mile) to feel the resistance and ability to overcome what veterans over the years have.
50% of the profits will go to Cross the Line scholarships and the other 50% going to K9 for Warriors. Participants will receive a performance t-shirt and Medal.
Immediately following the completion of the run we will have a small ceremony in parking lot A (start/finish point) ending with a moment of silence at 11:11am to celebrate the Armistice of the first world war. Light snack, fruit and water.
You may purchase a yard sign online at the Eventbrite registration page. They will be dedicated to a veteran you are running for and will be posted along the course the entire day, for $30.

We will do day of CASH ONLY registration until 845am.
