Immediately after graduation, Janet started her technology career and began her graduate studies part-time while working full-time. She attained a Master in Business Administration three years later. Janet spent 12 years refining both her leadership and technical skills as an information technology specialist and project manager at Information Systems of Florida. Her involvement there culminated in client partner status.

Janet has served Nassau County in elected office, as a volunteer in our schools, and on various boards in our community, including:

·         Nassau County Planning & Zoning Board

·         Nassau County Alcohol, Crime & Drug Abatement  Coalition

·         Nassau County Community Alliance

·         Nassau County School Board

·         Florida House of Representatives.

Janet spent four years as the Chief Administrative Officer for her family’s business, providing budgeting, accounting, training, and technology implementation.

Janet has been married to her husband, Doug, for 26 years. They have started a foundation, Emily’s Promise, to honor their daughter. Their son, Douglas, received his degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology cum laude from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina and is applying to medical school. Janet and Doug live in Fernandina Beach and are members of Blackrock Baptist Church in Yulee.

About Stan Bethea

Stan is a lifelong resident of Callahan, on Nassau County’s west side. He continues to reside in Callahan, along with his wife and daughter.

A great Supervisor of Elections should have a great deal of actual election experience, and Stan has it. He served nearly (2) two decades on staff at the Duval County Supervisor of Elections office. For 17 of those years, he held the position of Director of Information Services. For the last 6 years of his career, he also served as Chief Elections Officer.

During his tenure as Director of Information Services, Stan oversaw the day-to-day voter registration system. He also managed 50 successful elections for Florida’s 7th largest county, including (5) five Gubernatorial and (4) Presidential elections. Furthermore, he acted as a subject matter expert resource in (7) specific areas to other Florida Supervisor of Elections offices.

Stan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems from the University of North Florida, as well as election certifications at both the state and national levels.

Stan is an election professional who looks forward to bringing his education, certifications, and experience to serve Nassau County’s voters as the next Supervisor of Elections.
