3rd on 3rd Temporary Exhibit Opening
Friday, June 16, at 6pm
Your favorite mug, your terracotta planter, your heirloom tea set: pottery is all around us, but the process behind it is much more complex than many people realize. Earth & Heat takes an expansive look at how local pottery is crafted, from native Timucuan works to contemporary potters on the island today.
The exhibit will open with a talk by Dr. Neill Wallis, Associate Curator of the Ceramic Technology Lab at the Florida Museum of Natural History. He will discuss ancient indigenous pottery in northeast Florida.
Attendance is $5 for members and a suggested donation of $10 for nonmembers. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible. |
