5.1 FERNANDINA BEACH BABE RUTH LEAGUE – FEE WAIVER REQUEST – The 2023/2024
fiscal year Master Fee Schedule, approved by Ordinance 2023-31, includes a $4.00 per player/per
season fee for non-profit youth sport organizations/leagues. The Fernandina Beach Babe Ruth League
herewith requests that these fees be waived for a minimum of five years due to the League raising
$72,000, which was subsequently utilized to improve the Central Park baseball fields.
5.2 NASSAU COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS – MUNICIPAL GRANT
FUNDING – The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), at their October 9, 2023,
meeting, approved the Municipal Grant Funding Policy which allows municipalities to request BOCC
grant funds, up to $50,000, for projects that develop public facilities which meet a public purpose. This
item is placed on the agenda at the request of staff for direction.
