Don’t Miss Our Exhibit Opening This Friday!

Join us for the exhibit opening, 500 Years on the Island, featuring a special lecture by Ken Wild!

Through a selection of projects, Archaeologist Ken Wild will illustrate how sites are discovered and how researchers determine their age, nationality, and function. Gain insight into the methods that bring hidden landscapes, untold stories, and cultural evolution to light, deepening our understanding of the island’s heritage.

Join us for the exhibit opening, 500 Years on the Island, featuring a special lecture by Ken Wild!

Meet Our Speaker

Ken Wild

Ken Wild, a Certified Professional Archaeologist through the Society of Professional Archaeologists, has an extensive career in archaeology. A former Faculty Scholar at Northern Illinois University, he received the John L. Cotter Award for Excellence in National Park Service (NPS) Archaeology and served as the Virgin Islands rock art expert for a UNESCO World Heritage proposal. His work spans roles at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, the NPS Southeast Archaeological Center, and the Virgin Islands National Park, where he retired as Chief Archaeologist in 2023. Wild’s research covers shipwrecks, railways, battlefields, historic preservation, and more, with over 90 published reports.
