Constitution Day Celebration Event

We are having a Constitution Day Celebration Event at the Courthouse, and you’re invited! Constitution Day is designated to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787.

Join us as we celebrate this historic moment for our great nation, featuring the stirring performance of Washington’s Farewell Address by Judge Adrian Soud.

Enjoy snacks and a cash bar while learning about USCSF, our Constitution Plaza, and celebrating the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

Here’s a look at our agenda for the evening:

6:00pm    Pre-event Gathering in Grand Jury Room

– beer & wine cash bar

6:25pm    Move to Program in Courtroom A

6:30pm    Welcoming Comments – Al Watson

6:32pm    Pledge of Allegiance – Judge Jim Daniel

6:33pm    Invocation – Judge Steven Fahlgren

6:35pm    About USCSF and Constitution Plaza – Stan Cottle

6:42pm    Paver Dedication – Mike Cole

6:45pm    Washington’s Farewell Address – Judge Adrian Soud

7:30pm    Closing Remarks – Al Watson

The Constitution Plaza is a great local symbol for patriotism and love for our country.

In December 2018, Nassau County set aside 700 square feet of the Robert M. Foster Justice Center for an area designated “The Constitution Plaza” to enshrine with brick pavers the names of student graduates and scholarship winners.

Additionally, donations for pavers in The Constitution Plaza by private citizens or corporations are enshrined and used to help provide scholarships for the students. These funds are used exclusively for scholarships.

The Constitution Plaza is a place to honor and remember those that have made our community and America great:

Police Officers            Judges                      Doctors/Nurses
Those We Love
