Meet our Speaker

Dan Hogan

Dan Hogan is a Jacksonville native and a graduate of the University of Florida. He spent 33 years with State Farm Insurance, a career that took him to Pensacola and then Tampa, where he first became involved in lighthouse preservation. After retiring and returning to Jacksonville, he helped revive the Mayport Lighthouse Association and now serves as its president. Dan is leading the effort to relocate the St. Johns River Lighthouse from behind the fences of Naval Station Mayport to a public riverfront location where it can be restored and shared with the community.

Join Dan this Friday, July 18, at the Amelia Island Museum of History to learn more about this ambitious effort to preserve and protect one of Florida’s historic lighthouses.
