Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

7/13/25

I recently teased a big announcement…one aimed at strengthening accountability in federal spending—and now, it’s officially here. This week, alongside DOGE Caucus co-chairs Representatives Blake Moore and Pete Sessions, I proudly introduced the Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Spending Act.

For far too long, Washington has wasted your hard-earned tax dollars through unchecked spending and a lack of accountability. Just last year, the federal government made $168 billion in improper payments—a staggering figure that demands action. That’s why we introduced the DOGE in Spending Act. This legislation directs the Department of the Treasury to establish systems that track, verify, and cross-check payments—ensuring every dollar spent is accurate, eligible, and transparent.

This isn’t just about policy—it’s about restoring trust, protecting taxpayers, and delivering real fiscal responsibility. I’m proud to lead this charge. Stay tuned, because we’re just getting started.

PROTECTING FLORIDA’S SENIORS AND THEIR FUTURE
Image
I’m grateful to the 60 Plus American Association of Senior Citizens, one of the nation’s leading voices for older Americans, for honoring me with their prestigious Guardians of Seniors’ Rights Award.

In Congress, I’m fighting every day to ensure our Northeast Florida seniors, and millions more across the nation, get the respect, support, and financial security they’ve earned. As part of that work, I proudly supported a $6,000 tax deduction for Americans 65 and older in the One Big Beautiful Bill—a meaningful step to help older individuals keep more of their hard-earned money. Our seniors have given so much to the Free State of Florida, and I owe it to them to deliver.

MEETING A CHAMPION FOR CHILDREN’S HEALTH
Image
During Family Advocacy Day, I had the privilege of meeting Reign Jefferson, a brave 10-year-old from Duval County who’s battled sickle cell anemia since infancy. Thanks to expert care at Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, Reign continues to face each challenge with incredible strength and spirit.

She and her family came to Washington to highlight the need for specialized care for children with life-threatening conditions—a powerful reminder of why we must keep fighting for strong support of children’s hospitals. Reign is a true inspiration, and I’m proud to stand with families like hers to ensure every child has access to world-class care.

TUNE IN ALERT: NEWS4JAX

Don’t miss my latest interview on This Week in Jacksonville—airing Sunday, 07/13 at 9:00 AM! I joined Kent Justice to talk about the One Big Beautiful Bill and the latest on funding for the Emerald Trail in Jacksonville.

RED SNAPPER SEASON: FIGHTING FOR FAIR ACCESS
Today marks day two—and the final day—of the South Atlantic Red Snapper recreational fishing season. Unfortunately, that’s all Florida anglers get this year, thanks to burdensome federal regulations. Meanwhile, anglers on Florida’s Gulf Coast enjoy a 126-day season, thanks to innovative state management. That contrast shows how out of touch federal policy has become.

Earlier this year, I joined Senator Rick Scott and Congressman John Rutherford to introduce the Red Snapper Act—pushing for better data to reflect the real population and stop harmful regulations that threaten local businesses and tourism.

CASEWORK CORNER

One Nassau County constituent had been waiting—and worrying—about a nearly $10,000 tax return that never arrived. So, he reached out to my office, and together with the IRS, we got it resolved quickly and efficiently. This is what constituent service is all about: advocating for you when the system falls short.

If you’re facing issues with a federal agency, my team and I are here to cut through the red tape and fight on your behalf. Call us today at 904-830-3933. We’re proud to serve—and ready to help.
Sincerely,Image
