| Wednesday, as Chairman of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee, I held a hearing to expose how the border invasion is wreaking havoc on our K-12 education systems and putting students last. I can sum up the hearing with one word: shocking! We learned that teachers are teaching in hallways, schools are housing illegal immigrants, resources are being diverted to illegal immigrants, and the safety of students and teachers is being compromised. But that’s not all. Nationwide, it’s estimated that illegal immigration has increased education costs by more than $2 billion a year. HOLDING THE ICC ACCOUNTABLEWe cannot stand by as the International Criminal Court (ICC) targets the nation of Israel, including, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On Thursday, House Republicans stood alongside our ally and passed the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act. This bill imposes sanctions on the ICC chief prosecutor and other senior court officials for their politically motivated attacks on Israel as she rightfully defends herself against Hamas and Hezbollah. Read more HERE . BIDEN’S LATEST BORDER INVASION EXECUTIVE ACTION We are two days into Biden’s Immigration Order, and nothing has changed. There are still mass border crossings happening right now along our southern border. Let’s not forget in his first 100 days, Biden took 95 executive actions to dismantle border security. I’m not falling for this administration’s election spin, and you shouldn’t either. The invasion of our southern border was the plan, is the plan, and will be the plan under another Biden presidency. Border security is national security. That’s why House Republicans delivered the strongest border security legislation in our nation’s history—H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act— that would reimplement President Trump’s successful policies. For me, making America safe is not a talking point, it’s my commitment to you. PASSED: MILITARY CONSTRUCTION VA APPROPRIATIONS BILL As the son of a WWII veteran, I understand that veterans’ benefits are not entitlements—they’re earned. Our veterans should never be stuck in the bureaucratic process or ever think twice about getting the care they need. On Thursday, I was proud to support the MilCon VA Appropriations Bill to fully fund our veterans’ benefits and healthcare benefits while slashing wasteful spending and halting the Biden administration’s radical policies—like taxpayer funded transgender surgeries. Read more HERE. FIGHTING TO SAVE AMERICAN ELECTIONS President Biden has no shame. Since taking office, he has allowed more than 10 million illegal immigrants to pour into our country and given many the opportunity to register to vote in our elections. This disastrous initiative is compromising our elections, individual votes, and individual voters. That’s why this week, I joined Representative Chip Roy to introduce the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which strengthens current law to ensure only U.S. citizens vote in our elections.
