Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

6/15/25

Recently, I had the opportunity to honor the remarkable life of my friend, John Thrasher, on the House Floor. Many called John: Speaker, Senator, Chairman, and President— I was fortunate to call him my friend. John was a decorated war hero, a lion in the Florida Legislature, and an extraordinary leader as President of his beloved Florida State University.ImageCLICK HERE TO REPLAY MY REMARKS

Beside him for every endeavor was his wife, Jean—the heart of his world, along with his children and grandchildren. John, your work here is done, but your legacy will endure. Godspeed, my friend.

HOUSE PASSED: RESCISSIONS PACKAGE TO ELIMINATE $9.4 BILLION IN WASTEFUL SPENDINGImageCLICK HERE TO WATCH MY REMARKS DURING FLOOR DEBATE

We have an obligation to make the federal government efficient and accountable, and with the passage of H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025, we are taking a critical step toward restoring America’s fiscal health.

This bill addresses irresponsible and wasteful spending, eliminating some of the most politically biased expenditures identified by DOGE. In Crazy Town, I’m putting Northeast Florida taxpayers first, ensuring that your hard-earned dollars are spent wisely and not wasted on unnecessary programs.

Now, it’s time for the Senate to act swiftly and help us put our fiscal house back in order. We are committed to responsible governance, transparency, and protecting America’s financial future. Stay tuned—there’s more work ahead, and I’m ready to get it done!

WAYS AND MEANS HEARING CONFIRMS OBBB’S IMPACTImageCLICK HERE TO WATCH MY LINE OF QUESTIONING

This week, the Ways and Means Committee heard from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who confirmed what we all know—the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) is a game-changer that will bring greater opportunity and prosperity for all Americans. Secretary Bessent emphasized that OBBB will provide immediate relief to taxpayers, seniors, tipped workers, and hourly workers. I also got his support on my latest bill, the DOGE in Spending Act, which will modernize the way the government pays our bills.

BATTER UP!ImageSince 1909, the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park has brought lawmakers together for a great cause, and this year was no exception. While I couldn’t play due to my knee surgery, I was proud to cheer on my teammates from the dugout. Republicans won BIG! The final score was 13-2! But the real victory? We raised a record-breaking $2.8 million for charity. I’m proud to be a part of this tradition and even prouder of the impact we’re making.

is not an option when it comes to protecting hardworking taxpayers from the most significant tax hike in our nation’s history. I joined Fox News Live to discuss the urgent need for action and what the House is doing about it. You deserve relief, not higher taxes, and I’m working to make sure Crazy Town gets it right.

CELEBRATING OLD GLORY AND THE U.S. ARMY

On Saturday, June 14th, we honored and celebrated two great American traditions—Flag Day and the U.S. Army’s Birthday!

On Flag Day, we honored the symbol of our nation’s freedoms, resilience, and unity. Our flag represents the sacrifices of those who fought for our country and the values that make America great. We also celebrated the 250th birthday of the United States Army—the brave men and women who have defended our nation since 1775. Their dedication and service ensure that freedom prevails at home and abroad.

Not just on June 14th, but every day, we should honor our flag, thank our military members, and reflect on the strength of our nation.

CASEWORK CORNER

A Jacksonville constituent was robbed, which resulted in her purse and important items being stolen. She reached out to my office, as she had a medical imaging appointment a few days away and had an outstanding social security concern. We were able to work quickly with the Social Security Administration to resolve her issue before her imaging appointment, as well as with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to replace her insurance cards.

Are you a constituent in need of casework assistance? My staff and I are here to help you. Call us today at 904-830-3933.
