Happy New Year! Abby and I hope that you and your family had a blessed holiday season. As we enter this new year, I am humbled and honored to continue representing Florida’s Fourth District. In the halls of Congress, I’ll always take a stand for the great men and women of Northeast Florida and will work tirelessly to ensure America wins again like never before. Under our new leadership, we will restore prosperity to all Americans, secure our southern border, and usher in a new era of American strength. We will defend our cherished values, principles, and way of life. On the House Ways and Means Committee, I’ll work with my colleagues to extend the Trump tax cuts and accelerate our economy. KEY WAYS AND MEANS SUBCOMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS  I am grateful to Chairman Jason Smith and my colleagues for appointing me to serve on the Social Security, Work and Welfare, and Oversight Subcommittees of the House Ways and Means Committee. These are three powerful subcommittees that will provide a great platform to fight for Northeast Florida priorities in Washington. Whether strengthening our workforce, protecting American workers’ retirement, or reining in the supercharged IRS, I am confident my colleagues and I will successfully meet the challenges our nation faces and deliver for the American people. Read more HERE . PASSED: THE LAKEN RILEY ACT  We know that ICE has released more than 650,000 illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds into the United States. That’s why we passed H.R. 29, the Laken Riley Act , to ensure illegal immigrants, like the one who murdered Laken, are detained and deported before they commit heinous crimes. Learn more HERE . CASEWORK CORNER A constituent serving in the Navy with a permanent change of station to Okinawa, Japan contacted my office after having difficulties receiving medical clearance and passports for his entire family. After my office inquired with the Navy, the family received their passports and had their housing extended, so they could enjoy Christmas in their home before traveling abroad together.If you or someone you know is experiencing a similar issue, please give us a call. VISITING YULEE HIGH SCHOOL  While at Yulee High School, I met some wonderful students in Mrs. Van Delinder’s debate class. I shared my tips for argument and rhetorical appeals when debating legislation on the House floor. We’ve got some bright young minds in Northeast Florida, and I’m proud to empower the next generation of leaders. SHARING ALL ABOUT THE ROLE OF THE HOUSE!  Stopped by Holy Family Catholic School in Jacksonville to discuss the three branches of government and the role of Congress!
