An Open Letter to:

Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, Bill Huizenga, (R, MI), Primary Sponsor HR 5779, Tom Cole, (R, OK), CoSponsor and Rules Chair for HR5779

Congressmen:

Social Security must be an open discussion with We, the People, of the United States of America.

It has been announced that the House Budget Committee passed H.R. 5779, the Fiscal Commission Act. A bill that hides the fact a drastic cut to Social Security is hidden within!

Congress does not have the authority to make cuts to Social Security without our approval. For you to conduct a closed door session and push Congress to cut, in effect cancelling that insurance/retirement program – that is in direct violation of the duties of Congress.

A Democrat in the Senate, Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-OR, stated, “Republicans in Congress know their plans to gut Americans’ Social Security and Medicare benefits are deeply unpopular, so they are resorting to schemes that short-circuit the legislative process, rushing through cuts to Americans’ earned benefits,” Wyden said. “The term ‘fiscal commission’ is the ultimate Washington buzzword, and it translates to trading away Americans’ earned benefits in a secretive, closed-door process.”

Senator Wyden recognizes that Social Security is the back-bone insurance/retirement program for We, the People who chose to pay into Social Security.

Considering Social Security’s future must be an open discussion with the people of the U.S. Ensuring that is the responsibility of Congress, a responsibility owed to the people of the United States.

By cutting/cancelling Social Security you will be stealing our money!

That makes you thieves!

It has come to my attention that during a House session to cut/cancel Social Security, Mr. Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works, an organization whose sole purpose is to protect Social Security, walked into your session, said, “I have petitions with half a million of signatures demanding you hold this vote open to the public.” Mr. Lawson was led out. (Note:

He kept the petitions for fear…).

Regardless of the political climate in Congress the People’s petitions are top priority. How convenient for you to forget that those petitions ARE TO BE HEARD, acknowleged and acted upon according to We, the Peoples’ demands – acted upon by Congress!!

Also, Congress is using, Congress prefers the word “borrowing”, Social Security’s (our) money to send overseas to foreign countries for their war – without our approval. Again, how convenient for Congress to forget Social Security is our, We, the Peoples’ money. That makes all of you thieves twice over.

Every House Republican that supports this bill has turned their back on their own party as well as the People of the Untied States of America.

Since you have pushed this bill, you have announced to the whole nation that you intend to steal our money. Therefore I am announcing that We, the People, whose money will be stolen will press charges for Grand Theft. Be aware, Congress, Grand Theft is a felony not a misdemeanor. That means prison and I assure you We, the People, the victims of your unspeakable actions will push until each and everyone of you who wrote or backed bill HR5779, are prosecuted!

The White House has rightfully referred to the commission as a ‘death panel for Medicare and Social Security.’
