PROJECTS/OPERATIONS:
- Beach renourishment work continues. The contractor is currently positioned .5 miles south of Main Beach and they are moving south in 1,000′ increments. This federally funded project is expected to be completed by mid-August. The community can track updates for this project at www.fbfl.us/beachrenourishment
- The men’s pool locker rooms/restrooms at the Atlantic Recreation Center are currently
closed for a full scale renovation. This project is scheduled to be complete by mid-July.
The construction of the batting cage facility within Central Park is nearly complete. The new
facility is scheduled to open by the end of June. - The Amelia Island Lighthouse Restoration continues on schedule despite delays related to
moisture. This project involves the restoration of the exterior facade and this project is
scheduled to be complete within 3 weeks. - New restrooms have been constructed and delivered to Hickory St Park. Final grading and
plumbing work needs to occur and then these new restrooms will be open for use. This
project is a collaborative effort between the City of Fernandina Beach and the Nassau
County School Board.

- City Clerk Caroline Best administered the Oath of Office to new Fire Chief Jeremy Holmes during Tuesdays’ City Commission meeting.
- Framing has been installed as part of the Main Beach Putt Putt rebuild.
- Friends of the Fernandina Beach Golf Course completely refreshed all three restrooms on the course- both interior and exterior.
