U.S. Senator Rick Scott Endorses Steele, Praising His Record of Results and Commitment to Protecting Taxpayers
TALLAHASSEE, FL — Today, business leader and America First conservative, Kevin Steele, announced he is filing to run for Florida Chief Financial Officer, with the early endorsement of U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.).
Steele is running for Chief Financial Officer in order to address the ongoing affordability crisis plaguing Floridians and the pressing need to reign in spending and reduce waste across all levels of government. His priorities include protecting taxpayers, improving government fiscal discipline and efficiency, while working to reduce property insurance costs for homeowners.
“Florida families deserve a CFO who will run our state like a winning business — smart, tough, and with zero tolerance for waste and corruption. As CFO, I will fight to safeguard every hard-earned tax dollar, protect consumers, and hold state government accountable to the people. I’ve spent my career building companies from the ground up, fixing broken systems, and getting results. I’ll bring that same America First, results-driven mindset to protect taxpayers and make Florida more affordable and stronger than ever,” said Steele.
A successful entrepreneur who has built and led companies across industries including telecommunications and healthcare, Steele has a long track record of using innovation and technology to improve performance, reduce costs, and deliver measurable results. He plans to bring that same disciplined, fiscal conservatism, and business-minded approach to the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Steele is committed to make state government work more efficiently and transparently for Florida taxpayers, which has earned him the early endorsement of U.S. Senator Rick Scott who praised Steele as the kind of disciplined and effective business leader that Florida needs overseeing its finances.
“Kevin Steele is a proven leader and a true conservative who knows how to get results,” U.S. Senator Rick Scott said. “As a business owner, he’s created jobs, cut waste, and made organizations more efficient. As a legislator, he’s fought to protect Florida taxpayers and lower costs for families. I’m proud to support Kevin because he’ll bring that same fiscal responsibility, accountability, and focus on results to the CFO’s office.”
As a legislator, Steele has been a leading voice for homeowners and taxpayers. He is spearheading efforts to eliminate property taxes on homesteaded property (HJR 201) and has developed an innovative plan to drastically cut homeowners insurance premiums, empowering Floridians to regain control over their financial future.
