| Meet Our Speaker Ken Wild |
![]() | Ken Wild has devoted more than fifty years to archaeological research, conducting investigations throughout the southeastern United States, the U.S. Caribbean territories, and Puerto Rico. He is currently studying a shipwreck in the Virgin Islands. Wild has authored over a hundred archaeological reports and published extensively on subjects including the archaeology of piracy, the development of the Taíno people—the indigenous inhabitants who greeted Columbus—pre-Columbian rock art, shipwrecks, and Spanish fortifications. |

| The Amelia Island Museum of History is hosting a companion art exhibit featuring 13 local artists. Among them is Denise Murphy, an award-winning glass artist based on Amelia Island. Denise began her career in fiber arts before expanding into fused glass and mosaics, studying with master artisans. Her works range from playful and abstract to vivid reflections of national parks, ocean vistas, marshes, and historic landmarks.Come visit our Temporary Gallery to see her stunning piece in person! Denise has generously donated “Davy Jones’ Locker” to the Museum for our silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Amelia Island Museum of History. Discover the charm of downtown Fernandina as we explore some of the most popular, notorious, or otherwise historic pubs and bars. This 2.5-hour guided tour takes you through about eight blocks of the historic district, stopping at three to four pubs to savor a specialty drink and hear colorful tales of Fernandina’s past.
