Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

11/1/25

We’ve now reached day 32 of a needless government shutdown. This week, Senate Democrats had their 14th opportunity to vote to keep the government open, but they still voted no, opting for political gridlock over a real solution.

As a result, 42 million Americans, including thousands of families right here in Northeast Florida, will begin losing access to food benefits. That’s not just unacceptable, it’s preventable. We only need five Democrat Senators to do the right thing and bring an end to this pain.ImageThat’s why I’m calling on my colleagues in the Senate to put an end to the political games and reopen the government. Our position has been clear and consistent from the start: pass a clean, nonpartisan funding bill and get Washington working again for the American people.

ON THE FRONT LINES OF SENIOR CAREImage
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Oak View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Orange Park, a 120-bed facility dedicated to caring for our seniors with dignity and compassion. During my visit, I toured the facility, spent time with the incredible staff, and even joined residents for a lively game of trivia—though I quickly learned they take winning seriously!

We also discussed how the Working Families Tax Cut is helping to strengthen and protect essential programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare. I’m committed to advancing policies that support our healthcare system, empower caregivers, and ensure our seniors receive the quality care they deserve.

FUELING UP AT RACETRACImage
Yep, that’s me behind the counter! I had a great time visiting RaceTrac in Middleburg, where I got a firsthand look at how this local business is contributing to our economy and community. From working the register to helping cook pizzas in the kitchen, it was an insightful experience. RaceTrac is more than just a convenience store—it’s a local success story.

Back in Washington, I’m working to advance policies that grow our economy, strengthen our workforce, and support the businesses—like RaceTrac—who keep us moving.

ON THE GROUND WITH FRESENIUSImage
I visited Fresenius Medical Care in Nassau County, where I had the opportunity to tour the facility and speak with staff about the critical role they play in providing life-saving dialysis treatments to patients in our community.

As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I’m working to protect access to care, support providers like Fresenius, and ensure patients can afford the treatment they need. Whether it’s strengthening Medicare, improving reimbursement rates, or cutting red tape, I’m focused on delivering real results for the people who rely on these services every day.

IT’S TIME FOR CLOCK SHOCK

Are you ready to fall back to standard time this Sunday? Daylight saving time will take place on Sunday, November 2, at 2:00 am, which means fewer hours of sunshine but more ZZZs. While some welcome the extra sleep, most of us agree that twice-a-year clock changes are outdated and disruptive. That’s why I cosponsored the Sunshine Protection Ac t to end this unnecessary tradition that takes place every November and March.

In the Sunshine State, lawmakers already voted to make daylight saving time permanent. Now it’s time for Congress to do the same and pass legislation to move Florida and the rest of the nation to year-round daylight saving time.

REAL CONVERSATIONS, REAL SOLUTIONSImageCLICK HERE FOR AN INSTANT REPLAY OF PART 1 AND PART 2

I joined Conversations with Nancy Brinker on Newsmax to share how I’m working to protect families, strengthen communities, and uphold the values of Northeast Florida. We covered a wide range of priorities from the LEO K9 Protection Act and the DOGE Caucus to the Working Families Tax Cut. It was an action-packed conversation focused on the real results I’m delivering and the issues that matter most.

CASEWORK CORNER

A Nassau County family found themselves in a tough spot when their dog ate part of one of their passports, just a couple of weeks before their international trip to celebrate their anniversary. They contacted my office, concerned that the new passport wouldn’t arrive in time. Upon receiving their request, my team quickly contacted the Department of State and was able to expedite a new passport, just in time for the family’s trip.

Do you need casework assistance? My staff and I are here to help you. Call us today at 904-830-3933.
