Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean

Last week, I voted for a clean continuing resolution to keep the government funded, open, and focused on serving the American people. The House of Representatives did its part to protect national priorities and provide stability—but the Senate failed to act, and now the federal government has officially entered a shutdown.![]() I know many families, workers, and business owners across Northeast Florida are asking what this means for their daily lives. To help cut through the confusion, I’ve prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding what to expect, which services may be affected, and how my office will continue to support you throughout the shutdown. As Congress works toward a resolution, I’m urging my Senate colleagues to act swiftly. We must fund the government so that we can continue to do the business of the American people. KEEPING AMERICA’S SKIES RUNNING ![]() This is about keeping our skies safe, our flights on time, and our economy airborne. Read more exclusively in Fox News . CONNECTING WITH NORTHEAST FLORIDA’S REAL ESTATE COMMUNITY ![]() I recently had the opportunity to meet with the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR)—a powerhouse in our region with over 12,000 members. As the largest professional trade association in Northeast Florida and the fourth largest in the state, NEFAR plays a key role in shaping the future of our local real estate market. During our conversation, I emphasized how the Working Families Tax Cut is more than just a tax cut—it’s a strategic reset for American economic growth. This plan delivers stability and smart incentives that directly support the real estate industry—from independent brokers and investors to the families NEFAR members serve every day. When realtors thrive, families flourish, and the American Dream moves forward. PROTECTING MILITARY PAY DURING A SHUTDOWN ![]() This week, I joined Congresswoman Jennifer Kiggans in introducing H.R. 5401, the Pay Our Troops Act of 2026, to ensure members of our U.S. Armed Forces get paid, no matter what. Our nation’s warriors selflessly serve our country. As a member of Congress, it is my solemn duty to honor their service and heroism. That’s why I am proud to join my colleagues in supporting this legislation to pay our troops and ensure the men and women who are on the front lines do not suffer financial distress as a result of Washington’s dysfunction. STANDING UP FOR HOMELAND SECURITY PERSONNEL ![]() That’s why I partnered with Representative Bill Huizenga to introduce the Pay Our Homeland Defenders Act. This bill ensures that frontline homeland security personnel continue to receive their pay during a shutdown. Their service is essential, and their compensation should never be used as a bargaining chip. Read more in Action News Jax . CELEBRATING ABILITY AT THE REVEALING ABILITIES GALA ![]() I was honored to attend the Revealing Abilities Gala in Orange Park, where we celebrated the incredible contributions of individuals with disabilities and the organizations that empower them. The energy in the room was inspiring—a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we invest in inclusion and opportunity. As an AbilityOne Champion, I’ll continue to support policies that provide competitive wages, substantial benefits, and meaningful career development opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Their work strengthens our communities, and they deserve every chance to thrive. BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES WITH TAX CERTAINTY ![]() I recently had the chance to speak with members of the National Town Builders’ Association (NTBA) about how the Working Families Tax Cut is empowering developers to do what they do best—create vibrant, walkable communities where families can thrive. This new tax cut delivers long-overdue certainty, giving town builders across the country—and especially in the free state of Florida—the confidence to invest, hire, and grow without fear of shifting rules. With this stability, community-focused developers can continue shaping the kinds of neighborhoods that make Northeast Florida stronger. CASEWORK CORNER A Clay County constituent had been renting a P.O. Box at a local USPS location. When he decided he no longer needed it, he went through the proper process to cancel it. However, soon after, his mail was consistently being delivered to incorrect addresses or not delivered at all. For six months, he repeatedly contacted the USPS but was unable to resolve his issue. After contacting my office, my team quickly got in contact with employees at the postal service, and now the mail is being delivered to the correct address. Do you need casework assistance? My staff and I are here to help you! Call us today at 904-830-3933. Sincerely, Congressman Aaron Bean Proudly Serving Florida’s Fourth Congressional District |
