Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

9/15/25

This week, we marked the 24th anniversary of the September 11th attacks—a day that forever changed our nation. We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the unity that followed in the face of unimaginable tragedy. It was a moment that reminded us of who we are: resilient, courageous, and committed to defending freedom.Image
But as we reflect on that solemn day, we must also confront the troubling reality of our present. Just this week, Charlie Kirk—a prominent advocate for free speech—was assassinated while speaking on a college campus. His death is a stark reminder that political violence is not a relic of the past—it is a growing threat to our democracy.

The spirit of 9/11 was one of unity. Americans from every walk of life came together, not as partisans, but as patriots. We need that same spirit now more than ever. Let us honor those we’ve lost—then and now—by standing firm against hatred, violence, and division, and by recommitting ourselves to what binds us together as one nation.

SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS, SECURING THE HOMELANDImage
This week, the House successfully passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (NDAA), which sets the course for Department of Defense programs and funding.

This year’s NDAA delivers on every front. It invests in cutting-edge technologies, reinforces our nuclear deterrence, secures our southern border, and boosts military readiness to confront growing threats. It puts our warfighters ahead of politics, provides a 3.8% pay raise for all service members, and saves taxpayers over $20 billion thanks to cost-cutting initiatives led by DOGE. Learn more HERE .

WHAT’S IN A NAME?ImageCLICK HERE TO WATCH MY REMARKS

On Wednesday, I took to the House floor to ask a simple question about the One Big Beautiful Bill: What’s in a name?  Whether you call it the Peace Through Strength bill, the Border bill, or the Working Families Tax Cut bill, the result is the same: it will unleash the Golden Age of America. This bill strengthens our military, secures the border, protects Medicaid, and delivers the largest tax cut in history. No matter the name, it’s a win for you and all Americans.

CHAMPIONING SCHOOL CHOICE IN JACKSONVILLEImage
This week, I met with members of the Association of Christian Schools and administrative officials from Victory Christian Academy in Jacksonville. Pastor Jesse Latta, President of the Academy, and Upper School Principal Abdiel Hernandez shared the impactful work they’re doing to provide students with a values-based, academically rigorous education.

Victory Christian Academy is a powerful example of how school choice empowers families to select the learning environment that best fits their children’s needs. When parents have options, students thrive—and communities grow stronger. I remain committed to protecting and expanding school choice, so every child has the opportunity to succeed.

STRENGTHENING BORDER SECURITY, CLOSING LOOPHOLESImage
On Thursday, the House, with bipartisan support, passed H.R. 3486—the Stop Illegal Entry Act. This vital legislation closes a longstanding loophole in our immigration system by imposing tougher penalties on individuals who illegally enter or re-enter the United States after deportation, particularly those convicted of a felony.

By increasing criminal consequences for repeat offenders, this bill sends a clear message: our borders are not open to abuse, and our laws will be enforced. It’s a meaningful step toward a safer, more secure America.

CASEWORK CORNER

A constituent from Duval County was preparing for an international trip and believed her passport—set to expire in early 2026—would be valid for travel. But she was surprised to learn that her destination required at least six months of passport validity for entry. She reached out to our office, and my team immediately got to work. We coordinated with the Department of State to secure her an in-person appointment at a passport center. Thanks to a fast turnaround, she received her renewed passport in time for her trip.

If you or someone you know needs casework assistance, my staff and I are here to help. Call us today at 904-830-3933.Sincerely,Image
