PROJECTS/OPERATIONS:
Despite the City’s efforts to momentarily pause beach renourishment to accomodate beach
visitors over July 4 weekend, Seaside Park will be closed to vehicular traffic for the
remainder of the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Beach Renourishment project. This closure will take place June 26 and is expected to last 2 – 3 weeks. Pedestrians will be able to access this area, but no driving or parking on the beach will be permitted.
Starting on Monday 6/30/25 through Thursday 7/3/25, Division St. from Jasmine St. to Hickory St. will be closed from 8am-5pm for the installation of new Stormwater infrastructure.
The Amelia Lighthouse restoration project is substantially complete. This first phase involved a full restoration of the exterior facade. The Contractor will be demobilizing scaffolding the first of July and the facility is scheduled to reopen soon after.
Expect to see construction activity along portions of Simmons Rd. Contractors are upgrading the water distribution and wastewater collections systems
The Greenway access bridge at Beech Street will be temporarily closed on June 30 for maintenance and repairs.
A Cooling Center is open Fellowship Hall of First Missionary Baptist Church,
11AM-5PM. Look for the sign at Ash & 9 for when it is open
Sanitation collection services in Nassau County (including Fernandina Beach) will NOT be affected by the 4 of July holiday.
The City hosted a Townhall Meeting on June 24 to obtain feedback on Downtown Paid
Parking and on redevelopment options for the Brett’s Restaurant area.

NEWS/PROMOTIONS:
Light Up Amelia, together with the City of
Fernandina Beach and Florida Public Utilities
presents Hometown 4th of July on Friday, July 4
starting at 6:00pm at the Marina waterfront. This
year’s event will feature music, food trucks, and
commercial vendors. Fireworks will launch at
approximately 9:00pm.
