Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

6/29/25

As the son of a WWII veteran, I know firsthand that veterans’ benefits are not entitlements—they’re earned. Our veterans should never be stuck in the bureaucratic process or ever think twice about getting the care they need. That’s why I was proud to help pass H.R. 3944, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026 .Image
This critical legislation funds our veterans’ benefits and healthcare, makes significant investments in mental health services, and strengthens the quality of life for our troops and their loved ones through additional housing and childcare resources. This bill also fortifies our southern border with robust investments in critical security infrastructure, as safeguarding our nation begins by securing our borders.

SPOTLIGHT ON NICE: BUILDING SMARTER, STRONGER COMMUNITIESImageEarlier this week, I had the pleasure of speaking to the National Insulation Contractors Exchange (NICE)—and let me tell you, the name says it all. These hardworking professionals may operate behind the walls, but their impact is anything but hidden. From boosting energy efficiency to supporting American jobs, NICE members are driving tangible results for our economy and our environment.

We discussed how the One Big Beautiful Bill supports their mission with pro-growth tax policies that fuel local investments, skilled jobs, and global competitiveness. I’m grateful for the work they do every day to build a brighter future.

This week, I delivered remarks on the House floor in strong support of the One Big Beautiful Bill—a major win for Northeast Florida’s manufacturing sector.

Our region is home to over 15,000 manufacturing jobs and generates more than $2.6 billion in base economic output. The One Big Beautiful Bill defends that workforce by preserving pro-growth policies, lowering costs, and empowering our local industries to build, hire, and thrive. I’ll continue working to ensure our manufacturers have every tool they need to stay strong and competitive.

SECURING OUR BORDER, SAFEGUARDING OUR COMMUNITIESThis week, the House delivered two major wins for public safety and national security—protecting our borders and the neighborhoods we call home.

Special Interest Alien Reporting Act to hold the Department of Homeland Security accountable by requiring reports on unlawful entries tied to national security threats, so we can stay vigilant and keep our communities safe.

Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act to make driving under the influence a deportable offense for non-U.S. nationals.

These bills aim to restore control at the border and reinforce the rule of law in our communities. I’m proud to support both—and I’ll keep working to defend the safety of every Northeast Floridian.

IN THE NEWS: NATIONAL SECURITY AND LOCAL WINS FOR WORKERSImage
I kicked off the week with Action News Jax, where we covered two major developments making waves both at home and abroad. First, I discussed the successful military operation the United States carried out in Iran, and then I broke down how the One Big Beautiful Bill is delivering real, local wins right here at home.

From securing peace abroad to empowering workers here in Florida, I’m keeping promises and getting results.

On Thursday, I joined the Ed Dean Morning Show, where we dove into the weeds of the One Big Beautiful Bill—and what it means for hardworking Americans. One major highlight? The House is taking action to restore integrity to the Medicaid program. That means cutting out waste and fraud while protecting care for those who need it most: seniors, low-income families, pregnant mothers, children, and individuals with disabilities.

CASEWORK CORNER
Trying to work through the bureaucracy of a federal agency to resolve an issue can be a daunting and complicated task, especially if the situation is urgent. But remember, you don’t have to attempt it alone!

A Jacksonville resident relying on Social Security Disability benefits experienced a technical issue, resulting in a temporary suspension of her payments. She reached out to various agencies but encountered multiple problems in resolving her situation. Earlier this week, her bank account dropped below $60. Justifiably worried, she called our office. We immediately contacted the Office of Disability Operations and informed them of her situation. Within days, they had deposited the more than $83,000 she was owed and had restored her benefits.

If you are a constituent in need of casework assistance, my staff and I are here to help you. Call us today at 904-830-3933.
