PROJECTS/OPERATIONS:
– A Town Hall meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, at 5:00pm at City Hall. Topics will include the redevelopment of Brett’s area and paid parking within the Downtown area.
– The redevelopment of the Ybor Alvarez Sports Complex is a joint-funded project with the
County. This project involves the purchase of Airport land and the redevelopment of the
sports fields and parking lots. The environmental assessment is underway and is a necessary component due to requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration.
– The Amelia Waterfront Park is approaching 25% complete. The pavilion and restroom
construction is underway, and the the boat trailer parking area has been reopened. This
project is expected to be substantially complete by the end of 2025.
– The water meter replacement project is occurring on schedule. This multi-year project
involves the replacement/upgrade off all water meters to an electronic smart meter. The
new meters will allow for homeowners to track water usage through a digital interface.

The City’s Utility Billing software will be upgraded on
June 3, 2025. Secure payments can be made online, by
phone, or by text with credit/debit card or e-check.
Registration is required for full access to your account.
New features include no registration for one-time
payments, automatic payments from a credit/debit
card or e-check, and text notifications. Customers who
have previously established auto-draft payments will
not be affected. Payment Drop Boxes in front of City Hall
(204 Ash Street) and in front of the Utility Billing office
(1180 South 5 Street Extension) will remain and may still
be utilized.
