Press Release

By Judge John Marshall Meisburg, Jr., 5-11-25

The Second Annual Christian Heritage of America Parade and Festival is now scheduled for Saturday, June 28th at 10 am

On Amelia Island.   The parade will start in Central Park, proceed down Ash Street, and return to Central Park via Centre Street.

The Faith Festival will be in Central Park from 11am to 1 pm.

The first annual Christian Heritage parade and Festival were held in 2024, and was a huge success.  Over 300 people participated in the parade, with 13 floats and over 150 marchers. The festival featured speeches about the Christian heritage of America, praise and worship music, food trucks, games for the kids, and Christian vendors. A drone captured the entire parade and festival.

Last year, some people said that the parade was “divisive” because of our Statement of Faith required for all parade and festival participants.   The Statement of faith provided that Jesus was the only way to salvation, that God intended marriage to be only between one man and one woman, and that there are only two genders. Some people said that this was “divisive” for the community because it took place during so-called Gay pride month, and because some liberal churches did not agree with our Statement of Faith.  However,  Jesus Himself was very divisive!

Jesus said that He was the only way to salvation. John 14:6.

Jesus also said that He did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but rather fulfill them. Matthew 5:17.  And Jesus said that Godly marriage was only intended to be between one man and one woman for life. Matthew 19:3-6.  We also did not plan this parade for the month of June, but preferred the Fourth of July.  However, the Fernandina Police said that too many activities on the Fourth on Centre Street required us to move the parade to the last Saturday in June on the Fourth of July weekend.  The parade and festival are designed to celebrate and focus upon the Christian heritage of America, not current social issues. Everyone is welcome to join us in the parade and festival as long as they sign the Statement of Faith!

Please go to www.christianheritagefest.com, our new website to register to be in the parade, to be a sponsor, and/or to be a vendor in the Faith Festival.  The registration fee to be in the parade (with a car or truck or float or march ) is $25.  Sponsor levels are at $250 to $1000.  Vendors may set up a tent in the park for $50.   A parade and festival cost thousands of dollars (permits, security etc.) and these fees defray those costs.

Editor’s note: spectators do not need to register.
