Press Release
By Congressman Aaron Bean

Throughout our nation’s wars and conflicts, more than 223,000 American service members have been listed as prisoners of war (POW) and missing in action (MIA). We owe it to those service members and their families to ensure that our nation never forgets. ![]() This week, I was proud to reintroduce my bill, the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum Act, which will designate a national landmark in Jacksonville. This memorial will give Northeast Floridians and all Americans a unique opportunity to honor the immense sacrifice made by our POWs and serve as a powerful reminder of the service members whose fates are still unknown. HOUSE PASSED: GULF OF AMERICA ACT This week, the House passed a bill to codify President Trump’s executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. American businesses fuel the economy in the Gulf, our military protects its water, and our land surrounds it. Renaming this body of water reflects a strategic reality: America dominates the Gulf’s resources and security. KEEPING THE CHINESE PROPAGANDA OUT OF AMERICAN CLASSROOMS Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence is rampant on university and college campuses. From pushing propaganda and conducting espionage to undermining American education and indoctrinating students, the CCP is waging a new era of war in higher education. On Wednesday, the House passed H.R. 881, the DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institute and Chinese Entities of Concern Act, to prevent taxpayer dollars from going to universities with CCP ties. HAVING COFFEE WITH NORTHEAST FLORIDIANS ![]() I had the opportunity to attend a breakfast with the great folks at Associated Builders and Contractors Florida First Coast Chapter in Jacksonville. While there, we discussed the impacts of the tax code on home buyers and how critical Section 199A is to their daily operations. I also provided an update from Washington on the action I’m taking to strengthen our economy and unleash American potential. IF WE DON’T ACT, EVERY AMERICAN WILL PAY MORE IN TAXES NEXT YEAR! ![]() Earlier this week, I joined Real America with Dan Ball on One America News Network to discuss our efforts to keep your taxes low, DOGE cuts at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and President Trump’s visit with the Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. CELEBRATING MOTHER’S DAY ![]() This Sunday, we will celebrate some of the most important people in our lives—our mothers! I would have never made it to where I am without the influence and endless support of my mother. Today and every day, let us express our utmost respect for the women who have given us the gift of life, unconditional love, and steadfast devotion. May this day be filled with love, appreciation, and joy. Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in the Fourth District. ARE YOU PREPARED? As we wrap up Hurricane Preparedness Week, I encourage all Northeast Floridians to take time to ensure they are prepared for whatever the upcoming hurricane season may bring. While our state is no stranger to hurricane season and the challenges it can unexpectedly heap upon us, did you know you can take an active role in improving your ability to survive and recover? Whether evacuating or sheltering in place, make sure you have a plan in place, a disaster supply kit, and NOAA Weather Radio. Learn more HERE . CASEWORK CORNER Planning and packing for an international trip can be stressful enough, but what could make it even worse? Losing your passport!
