PROJECTS
Front Street will be closed from April 14 through April 25 for resurfacing and paving. The
area of paving will be the connection point for the opening of Alachua Street.
Ocean Rescue has begun staffing a lifeguard tower on weekends from 10:30 AM to
5:00 PM at the following locations: Main Beach Park, Seaside Park, Peters Point Park.


Utilities staff continues with the water meter replacement project. This phased project
provides upgraded meters that will provide real time leak notifications and
personalized water budgeting. Work is 60% complete.


The demolition and reconstruction of the Putt-Putt building at Main Beach is
scheduled to begin with the next 2 weeks. The new building will occupy the same
footprint of the existing structure.


A “Notice to Proceed” has been issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers for the next
Beach Renourishment project. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin in late May.
