Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

3/22/25

While the House of Representatives was out of session this week, I had the opportunity to discuss healthcare at Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville. We held an employee town hall with doctors, nurses, and administrators to hear their top concerns for our healthcare system’s future—specifically preserving access to care while ensuring the highest quality.

ImageFlorida deserves fair Medicaid reimbursements, and I will continue to fight to ensure our state gets its fair share. I am grateful for the incredible work St. Vincent’s does to care for our community.

2025 MILITARY SERVICE ACADEMY NOMINATIONSImage
I had the honor of announcing the 2025 Service Academy nominations from Florida’s Fourth Congressional District. I am incredibly proud to have nominated 19 students this year – the largest group we’ve ever had! Our nominees truly represent the very best that Northeast Florida has to offer. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our nation are commendable and inspiring. It was an honor to stand with you and your families!

CODIFYING FLORIDA’S PERMITTING PROGRAM

U.S. Senators Ashley Moody and Rick Scott joined me in introducing H.R. 2030, the Maintaining Cooperative Permitting Act of 2025 , to protect the ability of states, like Florida, to continue their state 404 Permitting Program.

The ability of states to take the lead in regulating their natural resources is vital, especially in the Sunshine State. Florida’s 404 permitting program remains essential for protecting our iconic wildlife and valued wetlands while reducing wasteful duplication and improving responsiveness to applicants and the communities’ projects they serve.

NORTHEAST FLORIDA STEEL PLANTImageAmerica is open for business, and U.S. steel is back. On Thursday, I was fired up to visit CMC Steel in Jacksonville for a tour of the plant and an employee town hall.  Employees had great questions about the economy and praised our current strong trade policies. U.S. manufacturing is red-hot! In Washington, I’ll continue to protect American manufacturing and put American workers first.

PUTTING THE PRESSURE ON TRICARE TO SOLVE REIMBURSEMENT ISSUESImageWATCH MY INTERVIEW WITH ACTION NEWS JAX HERE

Increasingly, I’ve heard from concerned constituents and providers about significant issues with their TRICARE compensation. Just this week, a Fernandina Beach physician contacted my office with concerns about TRICARE claims going unpaid. The number of unpaid claims was so high, that the doctor was nearly forced to cease service to TRICARE patients. While I am pleased to announce the physician in this case did receive their reimbursements and will continue to provide patients with high-quality care, this was a much bigger issue than just one office.

That’s why I sent a letter demanding answers from the acting Director of the Defense Health Agency, Dr. David Smith, about TRICARE claims going unpaid and unprocessed. Our great warfighters and their families deserve better.

ENSHRINING DOGE AND ITS EFFORTS INTO LAW

As founder and co-chair of the Congressional DOGE Caucus, this week, I joined Congressman Cory Mills in introducing H.R. 2006, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Act . This historic legislation will cement the creation and implementation of President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency into federal law.

The American people overwhelmingly support ending waste, fraud, and abuse, and we are working to restore accountability to the American public.

DON’T MISS IT: TOWN HALL WEDNESDAY NIGHTImage
I’ll be hosting a Telephone Town Hall on Wednesday, March 26th at 5:00 pm. The first three months of the 119th Congress have been nothing short of action-packed, and I want to hear from YOU. Be sure to mark your calendars, and if you haven’t done so, sign up to receive the call HERE .

CASEWORK CORNER

I am proud to report that my team and I were able to help a constituent get both his wife’s and son’s Green Cards approved. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the constituent was bogged down in red tape. Luckily, we were able to work with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to expedite the request. Today, the issue has been resolved, and both individuals had their Green Card applications approved.

Serving YOU is what we do! If you are struggling with a federal agency, give my office a call today!

Sincerely
