Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

10-18-24

This week, I hosted a roundtable discussion to hear directly from the Jacksonville business community about their concerns related to expiring tax cuts, as well as solutions to protect Main Street from skyrocketing inflation. ImageDuring the roundtable, business owners confirmed the importance of preserving policies, which so many small businesses rely on to remain competitive. Additionally, participants expressed how hard it is to find skilled workers, to access products, and the need for immediate relief.

As we work to preserve smart tax policies, I’m taking their stories back to Washington where I will continue to advocate for pro-growth policies that will allow Main Street to be more competitive, more successful and more innovative.

BEAN RECEIVES FRIEND OF THE FAMILY AWARD
Image
The Faith & Freedom Coalition presented me with the Friend of the Family Award in recognition of my commitment to safeguard individual freedoms and uphold conservative American values.

As the father of three, protecting Florida families has been one of my top priorities this Congress.  I am deeply honored to receive this award and look forward to continuing to work with the Faith & Freedom Coalition to fight for the values that have shaped our great nation.

CALLING FOR SWIFT USDA ACTION TO SUPPORT FARMERS IMPACTED BY HURRICANE HELENE

Hurricane Helene has caused significant damage to our agricultural communities, and it’s vital that we act quickly to support the recovery process. That’s why I joined my colleagues in urging Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to deploy Farm Service Agency (FSA) strike teams, utilize local rainfall data for accurate damage assessments, and provide disaster aid through state block grants to give Florida the flexibility to address our needs. BEAN DELIVERS $15.6 MILLION IN FUNDING FOR ST. JOHNS RIVER FERRY

In Northeast Florida, our ferry system is a critical part of our transportation network connecting residents to their jobs and families. As ridership continues to grow, I was proud to have helped secure a $15.6 million grant for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA). This federal funding, will go towards the purchase of a new diesel hybrid-electric ferry, guaranteeing uninterrupted service, as well as an increase in frequency of service.

In Congress, I’ll continue to support solutions that make transit more affordable and efficient for all Floridians. Learn more HERE

The updated processing time applies to both paper and online applications. Learn more HERE .

CASEWORK CORNER

A Northeast Florida family has been volunteering in Egypt, where they had their newborn daughter—congratulations! Unfortunately, when they needed to go to the Netherlands, this newborn baby was unable to travel without an American passport. After contacting my office, a dedicated member of the Bean Team was able to expedite the newborn’s Visa application, and the family was able to travel without a hitch.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation or need some help with the VA, Social Security, Medicare, and more—don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our district offices. Remember: serving you is what we do!
