This week, Hurricane Debby made landfall less than one year after we saw Hurricane Idalia devastate parts of Florida. Fortunately, the damage of Debby did not approach the damage we’ve endured from previous storms, but it was still significant in some parts. As our state begins the recovery process, we are so grateful for our selfless first responders and line workers and all they’re doing to help families and businesses get back on their feet. Floridians are no strangers to hurricanes, tropical storms, and their aftermaths. We are resilient, and together, we will rebuild and recover. NASSAU COUNTY TRAVEL, BUSINESS LEADERS ROUNDTABLE ON INFLATION ![]() As a former small business owner, I know firsthand the burdens small businesses face. In Congress, I’m working to ensure our unique travel and tourism industry has the support it needs to become more competitive, more productive, and more innovative. PRESIDENTIAL DECLARATION FOR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE On Wednesday, I joined Florida Representatives Kat Cammack and Jared Moskowitz in sending a letter to President Biden requesting debris removal, to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Debby. With the official approval granted for Public Assistance Category A, we will be able to efficiently mobilize resources, coordinate debris removal efforts, and mitigate the risks associated with post-storm debris. But in Crazy Town, all the Biden-Harris Administration wants to do is increase taxes and spend more money. But it’s not their money to spend—it’s YOURS! On Tuesday, I joined the “Chris Salcedo Show” on Newsmax to discuss how I’m taking action to get your money back! THE BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION IS DESTROYING OUR AMERICAN ECONOMY! ![]() Two years ago this week, Border Czar Vice President Kamala Harris proudly cast the tie-breaking vote for the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act.” Fast forward to 2024 and this bill has done nothing to tackle skyrocketing inflation and has done everything to increase economic pain for American families. On Monday, I joined the “Todd Starnes Show” to discuss the importance of tackling our debt and how my bill, the Cutting Unobligated Tumultuous Spending Act, will do just that. CASEWORK CORNER Remember that I’m here for YOU! This week, my team and I solved a smorgasbord of issues for constituents. One local veteran was having trouble filing a claim with the VA, so we requested the pertinent records and personally delivered them to the veteran, which resulted in the claim being resolved. If you need help dealing with a federal agency, call my district offices and we will be all over it! No request is too small or big; we will do our very best to make sure that you’re all set. TWO DAYS LEFT: BACK TO SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY With only two days left, I want to encourage all Northeast Floridians to take advantage of our sales tax holiday for new school supplies. The exemption will run through Sunday, August 11th and applies to select electronic devices, device accessories, clothing, backpacks, learning aides, and more. Please note that there are price ceilings on each tax-exempt item. To learn more about which items and prices are eligible for the exemption, click here . FOR CITIZENS LOCATED IN ISRAEL, U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT OFFERS ASSISTANCE ![]() The U.S. State Department issued an official travel advisory for all U.S. citizens located in the State of Israel. If you are currently in Israel, DO NOT travel to the Gaza region due to ongoing terrorism and armed conflicts. Additionally, avoid all travel to Northern Israel, within 2.5 miles of the Lebanese and Syrian borders, due to the rising tensions between Hezbollah and Israel. The U.S. State Department also suggests reconsidering any travel to the West Bank due to threats of terrorism and civil unrest. If you are seeking assistance or are in need of help in any form, do not hesitate to reach out to my office at 904-830-3933. Sincerely, Congressman Aaron Bean Proudly Serving Florida’s Fourth Congressional District |
