State Road 200 (A1A) Is In Dire and Urgent Need of Repair and Resurfacing

State Road 200 (A1A) in Fernandina Beach is in dire and urgent need of repair and resurfacing. The stretch of road in question runs about 2 miles on the west side of the bridge leading to and from Amelia Island.

The road in question is now so bad it is dangerous. Rocks and other parts of the roadway are being thrown up at cars and many people have had their windshield broken including me.

The surface of the road is also so bad that traction is an issue, and this dangerous condition may well lead to accidents.

We hear that the Florida DOT will not repair or resurface this roadway until sometime in 2025. This is unacceptable, and our government leaders need to intervene on this issue for the safety of the community.
