Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

06-16-24

Today, I voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which authorizes programs and spending for the Department of Defense (DoD). Congress is duty bound by the Constitution to ensure our brave, powerful warriors have the tools, resources, and equipment they need to fight and to win—every single day.

With the passage of this legislation, House Republicans are making sure our military remains unrivaled anywhere in the world. The provisions within this year’s NDAA invests in emerging technologies, upholds our nuclear posture, and strengthens our military readiness. It meets our national security needs while rejecting the radical left’s divisive woke policies.

But our military is getting far more than just new equipment. We are giving every junior enlisted soldier, sailor, airman, Coast Guardsman, and Marine a well-earned 20% pay raise.

For these reasons, I was proud to advance this defense bill that supports our servicemembers and our military families who dedicate their lives to protecting and defending our glorious American freedoms.

AG GARLAND FACES THE MUSIC ON ABUSE OF POWER

In an egregious abuse of power,
refused to comply with two Congressional subpoenas that would authorize access to critical audio recordings in response to an investigation into the Biden Family.

Attorney General Garland’s failure to respond is unacceptable—no one is above the law. The American people deserve transparency not obstruction. On Wednesday, House Republicans took a stand and passed a resolution to hold AG Garland in contempt for obstructing Congressional authority. Read more HERE .

On Thursday, my bill to address the aggressive and systematic threats from foreign adversaries that seek to infiltrate our K-12 schools passed the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

The Transparency in Reporting of Adversarial Contributions to Education Act otherwise known as the “TRACE Act” solidifies the rights of parents to know how foreign funding is impacting their child’s classroom and adds a layer of deterrence to keep foreign nations from reaching America’s youth. Read exclusive coverage of the bill in Fox News HERE .

In the wake of a natural disaster, it is crucial to make sure small businesses can get back up and running. On Wednesday, I was pleased my bill, H.R. 7984, the Rural Small Business Resilience Act , passed the House.

As we enter hurricane season in Northeast Florida, this bill will eliminate bureaucratic red-tape and get much-needed emergency relief resources into the hands of those that really need it.

AMERICAN SCHOOLS ARE FOR EDUCATION NOT ESPIONAGE!

On Tuesday, I joined the “Todd Starnes Show” to discuss how malign foreign influence in K-12 schools threatens our national security, compromises our geopolitical interests, and erodes our academic freedom.

It is our duty to protect our children’s future and preserve the integrity of American education, and that is where my bill—the TRACE Act—steps in.

SERVING YOU IS WHAT WE DOThe wins keep adding up! As of June, my team has helped to return $1,097,059.27 back to hardworking Northeast Floridians.
