Press Release

By Congressman Aaron Bean

05-31-24

Just 5 days ago, we marked another Memorial Day. A day for the nation to honor the courageous sacrifices made by our war heroes in defense of our freedom and liberty.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend of BBQs and trips to the beach. It’s a somber reminder that freedom has a steep cost, and we owe it to those who paid that cost to keep fighting to stay free. For if we fail, history warns us what will befall us as nation.

The events yesterday in New York City illustrates how fragile our democracy is. The Far Left couldn’t keep President Trump off the ballot, so now they’re trying to hijack our legal system. This is the type of thing you’d see in a third-world country, and now, sadly, right here in America.

But here’s the good news: In America, we are the captains of our own fate. I believe the best way to honor those who gave their last full measure of devotion for the Spirit of America is to rededicate ourselves to the noble cause of service and patriotism. We must take up the torch and fight to regain and retain our freedoms.

As your voice in our nation’s capital, I promised you that I would fight the Far Left every day with bold, conservative action. I have kept my word and will continue to do so.

BLOCKING TAXPAYER FUNDED HEALTHCARE FOR ILLEGALS

Our southern border is in full meltdown with over 9.5 million illegal immigrant crossings since January 2021. On top of this travesty, President Biden is working to give taxpayer funded healthcare for those who have unlawfully invaded our nation.

This is not only a blatant misuse of taxpayer dollars, but it’s illegal. That’s why I joined Congressman August Pfluger and Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach to introduce a Congressional Review Act that prevents taxpayer funds from being used to provide healthcare for illegal immigrants. NEXT WEEK: HEARING TO EXPOSE CONSEQUENCES OF BORDER INVASION IN K-12 SCHOOLSImage When it comes to depriving America’s K-12 students of an education to accommodate illegal immigrant students, I’m calling President Biden into the principal’s office.

As Chairman of the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education Subcommittee, I’ll be holding a hearing next week titled, “The Consequences of Biden’s Border Chaos for K-12 Schools.” You can watch the livestream on Tuesday, June 4th at 10:15am on the Committee’s YouTube page .

BEAN MAKES MEMORIAL DAY VISIT TO JACKSONVILLEImageOn Monday, I humbly honored all fallen service members of the United States Armed Forces and their families at the City of Jacksonville’s Memorial Day Observance held downtown at the Veteran’s Memorial Wall.

We must never forget the real cost of war, and it is imperative we share with future generations the importance of remembering those we’ve lost in service to our nation.

HONORING A FORGOTTEN HEROImageEarlier this week, I attended a headstone unveiling at Jacksonville University for Civil War Veteran, Corporal William Johnson. For more than 150 years, no one was honoring Cpl. Johnson’s service to our nation because his final resting place had been unmarked and unrecognizable.

In coordination with Jacksonville University, my team and I were able to secure a headstone to mark the final resting place of Cpl. Johnson. This headstone unveiling was a proud moment for our community, and I’m pleased to have been a part in commemorating the significant contribution and legacy of Cpl. Johnson. Read more HERE

BEAN REACTS TO CIA STONEWALLING HUNTER BIDEN INVESTIGATIONImageCLICK HERE TO WATCH

What’s the difference between the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)? Nothing! Both have been weaponized to attack President Trump.

Recently, I joined Tipping Point with Kara McKinney on OAN to discuss how the CIA blocked the IRS from interviewing Hunter Biden’s ‘Sugar Brother’ Kevin Morris as part of a probe into the first son’s tax crimes. This is clear coercion by our government and it’s the type of Crazy Town influence peddling House Republicans are fighting to end.

CASEWORK CORNER

Recently, one of our Northeast constituents needed Medicare to help with medical bills for her kidney transplant, so she reached out to my office. She needed coverage starting back in January and the Social Security Administration (SSA) had mistakenly denied her. After we reached out to SSA, she received both Medicare Parts A and B with coverage starting January.

HURRICANE SEASON IN NE FLORIDA

Tomorrow is officially the start to the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and I want to encourage all Northeast Floridians to prepare in advance for potential emergencies. Friendly reminder, hurricane season lasts through the end of November, with its peak running from mid-August to mid-October.

Below you will find tips to keep you and your loved ones safe:

Stay Informed:

Please follow the advice of your local government officials and monitor your local news.  The National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center offer detailed updates when a major storm may impact Floridians. Please make sure you are also staying up to date with Florida Emergency Management by monitoring their website .

Make A Plan:

Make a plan for what you and your family will do in an emergency.  Make sure you have an emergency preparedness kit and know how you’ll contact one another to reconnect if separated.  For a step-by-step guide on how to make a plan visit ready.gov/plan

Travel Information:

Dangerous storms and hurricanes often produce widespread heavy rain, which can result in deadly and destructive flash flooding and long-term river flooding.  Always remember:

Turn Around, Don’t Drown!  Visit the Florida Department of Transportation’s website for updates.

FEMA:

In severe disasters, FEMA may provide support to individuals and families with temporary housing, counseling, and other assistance. For more information, click here .
