On May 20th, Jack Knocke with Nassau Citizens Defending Freedom presented one hour and 15 minutes of testimony on the SAVVAS Learning LLC Social Studies Textbook. Numerous specific challenges were made to incorrect statements, inaccurate history, indoctrination, scientifically incorrect information, unavailable online curriculum, dynamic online materials with NO oversight, AI tracking of online textbook usage and authorization to share any online student data captured with third parties. Additionally, a information was provided on the publisher and their dark agenda of racist doctrine, DEI, SEL, strong gender identity advocacy. The district’s response was essentially “it was approved by the state” and “we followed the process”. Democratic leaders spoke at the board meeting that followed and urged the board to adopt the book. You may want to call the school board and share your opinion. They objected to the CDF arguments and one speaker suggested that if parents want Christian values and Christian truths spoken in schools, those parents should remove their children from public school and put them in private Christian schools. It appears that these speakers want the public schools to be purely secular, Marxist and atheist organizations.
