
On Friday, May 17, 2024, Nassau County Parks & Recreation will show the first movie in the summer series: “Soul Surfer”, in conjunction with our Opening of the Beaches Event scheduled for Saturday, May 18th.
“Soul Surfer” is an American biographical drama based on the 2004 memoir: Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, and is based on the story of surfer Bethany Hamilton, a professional surfer who lost her left arm to a shark attack. With great perseverance and determination, Bethany returns to the ocean, learning to surf again with just one arm. This inspirational story showcases human adaptability and our ability to beat the odds.
