FERNANDINA BEACH, FL—Two budget workshops of the Nassau County School Board are planned for Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23 at 5 pm at 1201 Atlantic Avenue before the regular scheduled board meeting on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 pm.

Budget Highlights for the Nassau County Schools:
- $80 million received from the District School Tax
- $48 million received from the State (nearly $35 million from the Florida Education Finance Program and $13 million from Class Size Reduction Operating Funds)
- Over $24 million from Estimated Revenues from the District Local Capital Improvement Tax
- $4 million from Estimated Impact Fees.
Appropriation highlights from the General Fund include:
- $77 million for Salaries and Employee Benefits for Instruction
- $7.3 million for Salaries and Employee Benefits for School Administration
- $6 million for Salaries and Employee Benefits for Pupil Personnel Services.
Estimated Capital Outlay Appropriations:
- Over $36 million for Buildings and Fixed Equipment
- $35 million for Remodeling and Renovations
- Over $8 million for Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment.
