Opinion

When I was a teenager my grandmother, a well-verse political mind told me, “Well the war with Russia is done. That was the minor one. The enormous one with China lies ahead.” I asked, ”But why? They are a starving nation, far away. We do not have a thing to fear.”
She smiled and said, “First of all the Bible predicts that almost the whole world will have to fight China. Secondly, I predict that the West will help China to become rich because they see it as a market, and once the Chinese can feed their masses they will come for the rich parts of the world.”
Seventy years later her predictions have become reality.
China is rich now. With a tremendously well-armed military of 761 million people, supported by 50 destroyers and 78 submarines. It has insinuated itself in the United States with land purchases close to our Air and military bases, as it has in North Dakota, and our government has done nothing to countermeasure these deals.
China built a spy base in Cuba. Remember, the distance Havana to Key West is only 105 miles. Our State Department’s forceful reaction to this situation was to share concerns with Cuba. Then, a few days later, the CIA released some documents, indicating that China had been spying from Cuba undisturbed by interference from the U.S., since 2019.
Is it any wonder that I believe I am living in a sanatorium run by mental cases? Maybe they are not mental cases but traitors. We all remember China’s spy balloon surveying everything in the most important parts of the country, the government did nothing to remove it until it was too late. For the longest time China purloined intellectual, industrial and information technology. They copied everything by infiltrating our institutions—Medicine, Architecture, the internet, et al. The doors to these institutions and universities lay open—unprotected like the doors of a house of ill repute. And what the Chinese did not purloined, we sold or gave them.
Now we have reached the point that gives me nightmares. We have been informed that with the invasion of six or seven million, or many more, illegal people from every corner of the world, 37,000.00 Chinese entered the country illegally with the help of underground organization. These are the figures from last year’s U.S. Customs and Border Patrol report for 2024. Among them, but often in all-male groups, were, at least, 25,000,00 Chinese men of military age. Some in camouflage uniforms. They have disappeared. No one knows where they are and what they do and if someone does know, they are not telling.
I have two reliable sources reporting that the Chinese influx begins in Ecuador, where they seem to arrive by boat. They enter Ecuador like tourists, with agencies that book illegal trips to the U.S. The first was an interview by Joe Rogan with Bret Weinstein. Bret Weinstein, a lifelong Democrat presented disturbing facts that distressed him. I found it refreshing, that a man of his standing called the Democrats a secret political clique involved in a cabal, and that he would rather see Trump at the helm if no other Democrat was electable. Having this posited, I followed his story of a Panama vacation, especially in the Darian province, close to Ecuador. On the long transcontinental highway lies an unfinished stretch of road in Darian province. The long gap has turned into a difficult place to navigate. However, the illegals who march toward the U.S. are helped by the International Community, providing help to ease the invasion. Weinstein reports, that separate from the usual flow of illegal migrants, there is a different migration, housed and helped, even with boat rides, through tough jungle parts. It is an army of young Chinese men with military bearing.
When questioned, the regular migrants told of their own country and eventual monetary success in the U.S. Few spoke of persecution. In contrast to the behavior of the first group, Weinstein noted an arrogant surliness when he ventured to talk to the Chinese. They would not say where they came from, where they hoped to go in the United States, why they were coming and what they hoped to achieve. Weinstein was unpleasantly affected by their hostile attitude. He calls this migration a mystery and believes we are faced with the ploy of a military invasion.
And here we arrive at my nightmares. I have read von Clausewitz the German tactician, still taught at our military academies, and talked to enough military men, my grandfather was one, to know that with these numbers a nice little army could be built overnight. An army that first overthrows the government—should Trump win the election, and having done so, can eliminate the Democrats, too, or establish a puppet government in the U.S., willing to do the bidding of China’s Mr. Xi Jinping.
Do you think this is far-fetched? Did my fertile mind run away with me, and this cannot happen? You might remember, I know communism well and I believe communist governments able to do every dirty, brutal things to subdue a free nation.
I sincerely would very much like to hear your opinions on the matter. Perhaps you have insights that will let me sleep soundly.

Born in Germany in 1941, Sigrid Weidenweber remembers the horrific aftermath of Fascism. At the end of the war, she found herself living under Communism. Both of these totalitarian regimes left indelible marks on her psyche. She developed a healthy distrust of governments usurping too many powers in order to control people supposedly for their own good. MORE
