Amelia Island Museum of History Presents the Descendants of Domingo Fernandez

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on October 4th at 12 pm with a Brown Bag Lunch presentation about one of Amelia Island’s oldest Spanish families! Explore the story of the Fernandez family with local genealogical scholar, Jean Dixon Mann, and hear about how the descendants of Domingo Fernandez developed Amelia Island over the past two centuries. Learn with us about the Fernandez family’s journey across Florida and their claim to the last Spanish land grant, located here in Fernandina!

Attendance is free and open to the public and attendants may bring their lunch. Seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. This program is wheelchair accessible.
