Citizens Defending Freedom – September is Constitution Month- Thursday Sept 7 Meeting

September 7, 2023 | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us at the next Nassau County CDF meeting at The Pig in Callahan, September 7th at 5:30pm. We’d love to see you there! Enjoy delicious BBQ for purchase and conversation with like-minded friends. Each attendee will receive a free copy of the US Constitution.

We are celebrating “Constitution Month” with special speaker Brian Morrill, Senior Naval Science Instructor at Bishop Kenny High School. Brian is a retired US Navy Commander, father, high school ROTC instructor, and concerned citizen who has been holding “Liberty Chat” meetings for two years. Liberty Chats aim to rekindle the fire of liberty in all Americans by presenting/discussing our nation’s founding documents in a back-to-basics style. Brian actually started CCDF-Duval as an expansion of Liberty Chats, and he brings a unique perspective having grown up in Venezuela and witnessing how a government can–and does–take rights away from citizens.

*******CRITICAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING*******

SPECIAL BOARD MEETING-FINAL PUBLIC HEARING BUDGET

SEPTEMBER 11TH, 6:30PM

On September 11th the Nassau County School District (NCSD) board will vote on the MASSIVE school tax increase. Please make sure to attend this important meeting and let your voice be heard. The meeting will be held at 1201 Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Beach.

The School Board still has the opportunity to vote for a lower base millage rate to generate the $13.7 million they said that they needed for teachers, safety, health, athletics and the arts plus a cost of living increase – much less than the $29.8 million increase proposed.

If you want the Nassau County School Board (NCSB) to actually vote for a reasonable millage rate there is still time. You can ask the School Board to adjust the discretionary millage rate downward by .4 mils. Selling the 1 millage as generating $13.7, and then generating $29.8 million is not transparent.
